The Waukegan Municipal Beach features one mile of sand along with some of the only remaining natural dunes in the area. Recreational activities include swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, and sand volleyball. Also, open sand area gives the opportunity to play beach soccer, beach football, and other sports and activities. There are no lifeguards on duty at this facility and swimming should be done so at your own risk.

The band is arriving, Arts Park is setting up free arts and crafts tables, and volunteers from the Waukegan Garden Club and Waukegan Band Foundation are ready to welcome you at the entrance to Stiner Pavilion. Alchemy Beach is also open and serving up your favorite beverages.

Despite a breezy evening, the weather is beautiful for the first concert of the 2026 Waukegan Band season. Music begins at 7:30PM.

We look forward to seeing you at the beach tonight. Free parking is available for everyone!

The wait is over. The Free Summer Concert Series kicks off tonight at Waukegan Municipal Beach!

Join us at the Stiner Pavilion at 7:30 PM as the Waukegan Band begins another season of live music along the lakefront.

Best of all, parking is FREE for everyone at the beach tonight and every Tuesday throughout the concert series.

Bring a chair or blanket, enjoy the beautiful lakefront setting, and help us kick off a summer tradition in Waukegan.

Free Concerts at the Beach return next Tuesday, June 16!

We're excited to welcome back the Waukegan Band for its annual summer concert series at the Stiner Pavilion. Concerts will take place every Tuesday from June 16 through August 4, with performances beginning at 7:30PM.

These family-friendly concerts are free to attend, and free parking is available at the beach every Tuesday throughout the series. Bring a chair or blanket, settle in by the lake, and enjoy an evening of live music as the sun sets.

Alchemy Beach is open today with Happy Hour specials from 5PM to 7PM and will be serving until 8PM. Whether you're relaxing by the water, catching up with friends, or cooling off after a game of beach volleyball, there's no better place to spend your evening.

Plus, free parking is available for everyone today!

Join us for the Unity in the Community Family Fun Festival, formerly known as Gospel on the Beach, presented by the City of Waukegan, CFFC Waukegan, and the Original Scoopers.

Enjoy an afternoon of live gospel music featuring JJ Hairston, local gospel groups, food, games, fellowship, and fun for the entire family. This free event will also honor the legacy of Pastor Willie Moton.

The Waukegan Dunes feature four scenic trails that lead through this restored ecosystem and connect to North Beach:

• Piping Plover Trail
• Sunrise Trail
• Sandpiper Trail

Whether you're looking for a peaceful walk, birdwatching opportunities, or a chance to explore one of Waukegan's hidden natural treasures, the dunes are worth a visit.

FREE Yoga at the Beach returns Saturday, June 6, at the Stiner Pavilion. Classes take place every Saturday from 8AM to 9AM and are open to all experience levels.

Parking is free for yoga participants. Bring your own yoga mat.

Get there early, find your space, and enjoy a peaceful morning along the lakefront.
