Cal Poly Dressage Team

Cal Poly Dressage Team Cal Poly Dressage Team started in 2002 with only a handful of members. It has since grown to about 20-30 active members.

No dressage, or even riding experience necessary to join! We welcome riders of all levels. It's a fun and affordable way to gain riding experience while at college. For those more interested in competition, we dedicate at least 4-5 days per week to practice, and strive to to our best in each of the 6 annual regional shows that precede IDA Nationals in the spring. 2026 IDA Nationals was one for the books!

A huge congratulations to Lily-Rose Bacon for her 5th place First Level finish and to Caroline Kargenian for her 6th place Upper Training finish. We are so proud of our riders and all they have accomplished this season. A big thank you to Lou Moore-Jacobsen for coming out and coaching us. And we are so appreciative of Diller Ag Equipment, SmartPak Equine, and Weatherbeeta for their prizes.

We can’t wait for what next season will bring!

T-2 days till Nationals! We are so excited to be sending Lily-Rose Bacon and Caroline Kargenian to represent our program at the 2026 Intercollegiate Dressage Nationals. Here’s to some great rides to come and good luck ladies!

Stop by our booth at Open House Club Showcase to talk to our members and learn more about our team!

Demonstration happening at the Oppenheimer Equine Center in the covered arena from 11:00-11:30am. Club boothing occurring in the Rec Center North Gym from 11am-2:00pm.

HOME SHOW SUCCESS!

At the beginning of February, our team held the final show of the regular season at Cal Poly. We had some great rides with Cal Poly placing first as a team for Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, Lily and Aislin placed as both High Point and Reserve High Point riders both days. We are also excited to be sending Lily (First Level) and Caroline (Upper Training) as individual riders to IDA Nationals in April!

An additional thank you to for letting us use her horses. Their addition allowed this competition to run smoothly.

Here’s to a great season and we can’t wait for next year!

Today we celebrate women in sports, the women who laid the foundation before us and the women who will continue to expand this sport after us. Here’s to the incredible women that make up our club and the friendship and competition that come along with them. Happy National Women in Sports Day!

Last weekend at UCSC!

Our team traveled to UCSC last weekend to compete in the first shows of the season! There were lots of great moments and many things to continue working on. We are so thankful to for hosting a successful double header show and can’t wait for this next weekend’s competition at Stanford! Results below!

Meet our Public Relations chair, Caroline Kargenian!

“Hello everyone! My name is Caroline and I am serving as this year’s Public Relations chair. I am a third year Animal Science major with a minor in Agricultural Business and this is my third year being involved with CPDT. This team has provided me the opportunity to show in college and some of my favorite memories include qualifying for the IDA Nationals competition these past two years and representing the west coast there. I can’t wait to continue growing in this sport and sharing the world of dressage with everyone!”
