UC Santa Cruz Equestrian Team

UC Santa Cruz Equestrian Team UCSC Equestrian is a sports club at UC Santa Cruz that competes against other collegiate equestrian teams through the IHSA Hunt Seat discipline and IDA.

The UC Santa Cruz Equestrian Team competes at Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) horse shows in Zone 8, Region 1, and at Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) horse shows in Region U. this THURSDAY 9/25 is our orientation and information meeting.

SATURDAY 9/27 is our MANDATORY evaluation ride for all riders new to our team! Please fill out the Sign Up form (link in bio).

we will have an additional paperwork meeting WEDNESDAY 10/1 for all riders committing to our team this year.

Do you ride western? Do you want to continue to show western in college? Consider joining UCSC Eq!⭐️

🐴UCSC’s western team has been inactive for a few years, but we are eager to bring it back to life!

🐴To have an active IHSA Western team we must have a minimum of three active members who compete. We are hopeful to fulfill this requirement, so please come try out!

🐴If you feel you are inexperienced with western or uncertain you want to compete, please still consider signing up for our evaluation ride at Cornucopia. This will give you a better understanding of what you may want to do and our coaches can evaluate your ability to compete

🐴If you haven’t already, please fill out our interest form located in our link tree in bio. Also located in our bio is IHSA general information where you can read about how IHSA western shows are formatted and what to expect

UCSC Equestrian 2024-25 season recap: doodle edition!

So much experience was gained this season as well as memories! Everyone rode great and are continuing to grow as riders. Both IHSA and IDA teams had some great feats this season! Special congratulations to:

Dylan, as she pointed out of her division!

Fern, who qualified for IDA nationals in her first year on the team. The first UCSC Eq rider to make it to nationals in a while!! Good luck! We know you will kill it 😁
