She once said she would never cook again.

After running a meal prep company and navigating the stress, long hours, and pressure that comes with the food industry, she was done. Burned out. Over it. Ready to close that chapter for good.

But life had a different plan.

What started as an opportunity to help with after-school programs turned into something much bigger.

Instead of cooking for customers… she started cooking with kids.

And everything changed.

She found purpose in teaching children how to:
• Chop vegetables safely
• Read nutrition labels
• Build balanced meals
• Clean up their space
• Work as a team

More importantly, she watched their confidence grow.

When a child learns to cook, they don’t just learn recipes.
They gain independence.
They gain ownership.
They gain life skills that stay with them forever.

From thinking she’d never step back into a kitchen…
To realizing the kitchen was the vehicle for impact all along.

Sometimes the hardest seasons redirect you to the work you were meant to do.

There’s something different about showing up before the sun is fully up.

No excuses.

And then… she chose to gain weight.

We don’t wait until kids are injured to teach them how to move.

Learning how to run, jump, squat, hinge, push, pull, and coordinate their bodies at a young age isn’t about lifting heavy weights.
It’s about building patterns.

When kids learn proper movement early:
• They develop coordination and body awareness
• They build joint integrity and confidence
• They reduce injury risk as athletes and as adults
• They move better for life — not just for sports

Most adult injuries don’t come from “one bad day.”
They come from years of poor movement patterns that were never taught or corrected.

Strength training done right doesn’t break kids —
it protects them.

If we want healthier adults, we have to start with better movers as kids.

Most of the fitness industry measures success by how many pounds you’ve lost.

But spending the last 10 years with this community has shown me something much bigger.

I’ve watched people choose early-morning workouts on holidays, make better choices at family gatherings, bring their kids into their fitness routines, and take on challenges they never thought they would—marathons, 5Ks, new sports, new habits.

And in a Hispanic community where pan dulce, tequila, and late nights are part of our culture, so many of you have slowly rewritten those patterns.

You’ve broken generational habits.

You’ve learned how to socialize without alcohol.

You’ve set boundaries that protect your health.

You’ve kept the best parts of our Mexican cuisine—without guilt.

That’s real growth.

I’m proud of the changes you’ve made, and I see the effort behind every one of them.

While the industry keeps trying to shame people for what they’re “not doing,” I’m grateful to each of you who has trusted us to help you restructure your lifestyle.
