Was an honor to be a part of the Dale Planck Memorial race at Mohawk over the weekend. One we’ve had on the schedule since we started.

P2 Friday and DNF Saturday as Grayson got to meet his very first Yuke tire while going for the win after running down the leader in a shortened feature. Can’t blame him for giving it 110%. Consistently the best car, made all the right adjustments, the boy drove great just need at least one thing to go our way to seal the deal.

Had a great weekend none the less and are working hard for the next one. See you all in a couple weeks 🤘🏻

Made the short trip to can am speedway Friday night and ended with a DNF after running 9th and getting a flat LR with 3 to go. First time there on a very rough and technical track but overall really happy with how Gray adapted to the surface and gained great experience racing with some of the better teams.

On Saturday, we were back to Brockville and ended up P11 after starting 19th. Tight racing with cars all over the place was really good experience for Gray as he’s learning how to deal with traffic and move around the track to find where his car is working the best.

Super happy with the progress made this weekend and although an 11th may not sound impressive to some people, his 5th race ever and he’s showing that he can hold his own and keep his nose clean. Couldn’t be happier.

Thanks to all that has helped get us this far, we are working hard and continuing to be better each week. 🏁

Fresh off winning the PA State Series championship, we headed to Albemarle for race 4 on the VDKA. Austin had us on point all day as we were able to set fast time and lead every lap in both points and pro races.

This weekend was especially hard as I have been dealing with a shoulder issue so wasn’t able to do much except for get us there and wipe down the kart after the races. Huge thank you to my mom for going with us and helping since my dad couldn’t make it. Also can’t thank Austin Wyatt, Nick Jones, Elliot Sadler, Jared Jackson, and Phillip Williams (2) for doing literally everything from lifting the kart to starting Gray on the grid. Overall was a great weekend of racing 🏁

This past weekend was the final race of the PA State Series at Selinsgrove. We decided just to run Jr 2 as we are getting our other kart ready for the Jr Linited race at the Big O in a couple of weeks.

We started out quick in practice, qualified on the pole for both points and pro races, and Gray was able to pick up the win in points making it a clean sweep of every race we entered on the series this year.

In the pro race we decided to throw something crazy just to see how it would go and we went a bit too far coming home 2nd after pushing the leader around the last 2 laps. Glad we did that because Grayson was able to tell me exactly what didn’t feel right and what we should to fix it. To me that’s better than the win.

Side note: We sure are glad that this series has finished, and all of the whining from other parents that came along with it. We show up to try and be the best we can, keep to ourselves, and have fun doing it. If any one of you would actually take 5 minutes and come talk to us, maybe you’ll see that we aren’t that bad. You guys ruin it and make yourselves look dumb in the process. Everyone knows who you are. Better luck next time ✌🏻

Race 5 of the PA State Series was at Shellhammers this past weekend. We unloaded fast and stayed fast all day ending up with 2 more wins making it 16 🏁 so far this season.

Grayson was also presented an academic achievement award for maintaining 97 GPA through the school year so was very proud of him for that as well. Overall was a great way to spend Fathers Day at the track with him and Grandpa.

Race #3 for the VDKA at Capital City last weekend. We originally planned on running Sunday as well for the PA State Series at 7 Stars but after a long day of racing, and everyone being wore out from all of the traveling we've done over the past 2 months, we decided to skip it.

Gray brought home the win in Pro, and we missed a little bit in the points race to finish 5th. All in all a great day, and proud of the way we were able to rebound and bring home some $$.

We are taking a much needed weekend off and then will return to the PA State Series at Shellhammers in 2 weeks as we continue to chase that points deal.

Our quick trip down to Aynor for the Jr Johnson Memorial was one of our best weekends of the year so far. Although we didn’t come home with any wins, it was our first time running a limited as well as Jr 3 in the Deep South. Going into the weekend, our goal was to finish all the laps, stay on the lead lap, and try not to get in the way.

What happened next completely shocked us. In Friday night, Gray ripped off a P4 qualifying effort and would finish P5 in his first race. He raced his way up to 3rd at one point before slipping back at the end. Not only did he hang on for all 20 laps, he was competitive and held his own.

Saturdays race was postponed after qualifying due to rain, so we came back and ran that portion on Sunday. He had a great kart in Jr 3 but made a couple mistakes which cost him a shot at the win. He was down on himself and knew he gave one away, and with only one class in between that and the Jr limited, he was able to get it together and run 5th in the final race of the weekend.

Our family is extremely proud and optimistic for what the rest of the season holds. We are so grateful for all of the people that take the time to help Grayson be the driver that he is. His passion for karting is huge and we can not be more proud of all of his accomplishments so far.

We are looking forward to this weekend at Capital City for round 3 of the VDKA on Saturday, and then round 4 of the PA state series on Sunday 🏁
