⭐ What inspires you to teach yoga?
My passion for Iyengar yoga and yoga philosophy notwithstanding, I am inspired by my students and LOVE when they share about their growing awareness and progress in their practice. Bringing folks together into a community of learners is very satisfying.
⭐ Is there a mantra or philosophy that resonates with you and/or with your practice?
"May I not be held back by what I think I know." Humility in my practice helps keep my mind open to learning and finding new awareness.
⭐ If one has only 5 minutes to practice, what poses would you recommend?
Oooh...That's a tough one...Depends on how you’re feeling, but I would try Supta Padangusthasana Series (Reclined Holding the Big Toe Poses) followed by Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downard Facing Dog Pose) with the head supported could be a nice opening into the day or a way to wind down after an overly busy day.
⭐ Do you have any yoga book recommendations?
This is the book! Light On Life by BKS Iyengar; there is always something new to glean from repeated readings.
⭐ How do you like to spend time outside of the studio?
I am an avid hiker, love travelling, cooking for my family and friends, attending theater and dance performances, and reading and discussing books.
⭐ Anything else you want to share?
I am an unabashed anatomy geek!
