Our Story:
In 1975, Jack & Lana Farina opened their own store, Farina Cycles. The building for the store was originally a small auto repair and tire shop. This was before the start of the “10-Speed Bike” craze of the late seventies. Due to the seasonality of bicycle sales, Jack began selling snowblowers in the winter to help pay the bills and to make ends meet. Over time, Jack and his wife had fi
ve children. As the children grew, they were able to help out after school at the store. The children were active in both road racing and BMX racing and won the first road race they ever competed in! Both businesses grew as a result of his reputation for unbeatable service, selection and honest prices. In 1982, a second floor was added to the building. This would allow the entire first floor to be used for power equipment, which now included snowblowers, lawnmowers, chainsaws etc. The new 3200 square foot second floor showroom would be totally dedicated to bicycles, apparel and accessories. Over the past 45+ years, Farina’s has evolved from a two-person operation to a premier retail store. Although product selection, layouts and size of the staff have changed over the years, some things have not. Jack and three of his children are actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the store.
