That is a wrap for our 2026 fishing season! The Daybreak III was pulled yesterday, acid washed and set on the trailer. Now time to unload and winterize it. It was a great fishing season with brown trout out of the Oak, spring salmon out of Wilson, and summer season back at the Oak, our home port. A big thank you to everyone that came out to fish and make some great memories this year on the new boat! Oh, and thanks Hewescraft, Krenzer Marine and Richard Hajacki for all the help building, supplying and rigging the new boat! Very happy with it!

The folks fishing with me from Nebraska this week finished up their trip strong! Today we went 19 for 32 fish. We finally had a day where we didn’t need to fight the weather and storms! We caught some nice fish and lost some nice fish. Lake Ontario showed how good she can be and how frustrating she can be. These folks had a blast and are headed home with a lot of nice fish filets!

Had a decent morning of fishing with a group from Nebraska who are first timers on Lake Ontario. We went 13 for 18 fish. They had the chance to experience a triple with steelhead too! This was day one. Back at it tomorrow!

Had a good morning of fishing yesterday with a new group of folks. We went 18 for 23 fish. One of them made a little uTube video. I did not take any photos. The off shore fishing is as good as it gets!

We had a couple of good days with two different groups of people. The seas were a bit bouncy and the fish were scattered from a NE blow a couple days ago but we made the best of it. A good time was had by all!

Had another great trip yesterday afternoon with 16 for 21 fish. The largest was 22.1 pounds. The wind beat us up but we got it done! There will be no photos as the crew was Amish. Back at it next weekend!

Our morning started out with a slow bite so we moved off shore and got into them. We went 16 for 21 fish this morning. Fishing without a mate does not give me a lot of time for photos as I am trying to keep lines in the water. The folks fishing with me will share photos eventually. I will share them once I receive them. August fishing remains hot!
