Top 10 in the Nation!

A huge congratulations to Baron Advanced Manufacturing students Jesse Clingan and Keegan Naragon for earning 8th Place in the Nation at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference Robotics and Automation Technology competition in Atlanta, Georgia.

This wasn’t just another competition. The national contest required these students to compete on multiple industrial robotic platforms, automation, and control systems they had never seen or used before. With only two weeks to familiarize themselves with the equipment and software, Jesse and Keegan were challenged to adapt quickly, and demonstrate a high level of technical competency in robotics, PLC programming, automation integration, electrical systems, and industrial problem-solving.

To finish 8th in the nation against the best teams from across the country is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and technical skills these students have developed through the Baron Advanced Manufacturing program.

Their performance not only places Jesse and Keegan among the nation’s elite competitors, but also establishes Baron Advanced Manufacturing as one of the Top 10 high school advanced manufacturing programs in the country demonstrating that industry-driven manufacturing education can thrive at the high school level.

Jesse and Keegan should be extremely proud of their accomplishment and the way they represented the program, school, community, and the State of Indiana.

For a first-year SkillsUSA chapter, this is an incredible foundation to build upon, and I can’t wait to see how far these students and future teams can go in the years ahead!
