New England Street Outlaw Series to Cancel All 2020 Events at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park

Spectator Drag Racing Cancelled For 2020; Will Resume in 2021

The New England Street Outlaw Series (NESOS) regrets to inform our competitors and fans that we have made the decision to cancel the remaining four drag racing events for the 2020 season at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson, CT. After announcing a series of seven events at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park earlier this year the initial three events were cancelled in April, May and June due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on events. The remaining events slated for July, August, September and October have now been cancelled. This decision was not an easy one to make but many factors played a role in deciding this fate, primarily the COVID-19 situation that is affecting us all. The safety and well-being of our competitors, fans and track crew comes first. We also were faced with various unexpected logistic items, new protocols and continued restrictions that made it so we could not deliver the event our fans and racers were expecting. This is unfortunate but we feel that it is best to cancel the 2020 season. We look forward to resuming drag racing in 2021 at Thompson Speedway. We thank you all for your continued support and overwhelming excitement when we announced the original 7 NESOS events earlier this year. Stay safe!

Our 3rd scheduled event on Friday, June 5th has been postponed. Due to current restrictions still imposed on larger gatherings in CT we unfortunately will be postponing this event. When we have more information, approval to run and make up dates we will provide more information. Thank you everyone and stay safe!!

The NESOS officials are aware of the current state and federal mandates due to COVID-19 and therefore are officially announcing the postponement of our opening night 4/24 and our second event on 5/15, both at Thompson Speedway. We will announce more details as they become available. Thank you to all our supporters and we hope everyone stays safe and healthy. Wash your hands!!

May 24, 2018 (Gales Ferry, CT) – The New England Street Outlaw Series will suspend operations of their 2018 Fast Lane Friday schedule at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, effective immediately.

The New England Street Outlaw Series has sanctioned, promoted and overseen the Fast Lane Friday events at the Speedbowl since last season. The sanctioning body had originally planned a 16-event season in 2018 at the Speedbowl. The first event of the season was held last week.

The decision to suspend operations was due to multiple factors involving the relationship between the New England Street Outlaw Series management and management team of the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. Attempts to resolve concerns over pending issues were unsuccessful and management determined it was in the best interest of organizers and competitors to suspend the season.

Management of the New England Street Outlaw Series is deeply disappointed to have reached this decision. We would like to thank all of our racers, fans, sponsors and partners who have supported our efforts.

Congratulations to tonight’s Opening Night Fast Lane Fridays winners. In the first set of eliminators it was Outlaw Class Tom Bischoff, Street Class Brian Beskid and Bike Class Jason Barba. The second set of eliminators saw Outlaw Class Ernie Bogue, Street Class Adam Lewis and Bike Class Aaron Weiss. We are back at it again next Friday with Pro Tree Night!!

We are ready to burn some rubber tonight for the 2018 season opener of Fast Lane Fridays - Spectator Drag Racing & Car Cruise rolled into one awesome event at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. Race your hot rod, daily driver, truck, suv, bike, quad, atv or lawn mower!! Pits 5:30, Test & Tune 6:30pm. We have TWIN ELIMINATORS FOR ALL CLASSES tonight!!! $30 to race, FREE GRANDSTAND ADMISSION to watch!!

The weather looks to finally be making a turn in our favor!! Opening night of Fast Lane Fridays - Spectator Drag Racing with Car Cruise happens tomorrow night. Drag Racing will feature Twin Eliminators for ALL CLASSES and $100 bonus if the same racer can win both of their class eliminators. Pits open at 5pm with Test & Tune at 6:30pm, Eliminators start 8:30pm.
