I'll tell you what.

My career in the Super X has been a tough learning curve.

The random car I bought was a hard learn. Hard to adapt to. Unpredictable.

We did some The New London-Waterford Speedbowl stuff. During the questionable years played around at Lebanon Valley Speedway.

Still with no real good results at Waterford. Only Promise.

A few years of getting beaten down was frustrating, but we kicked off 2023 with a healthy reminder that we're good at this sport when we went to Oxford with First Lap Race Car Rental. Heat race winnah, and a contender in the race on some ancient tires in a car we didn't know, at a track we hate.

Half a Super X season later, we scored our first win in the division. I know I keep joking that I can retire, but I want more.

Went to Thompson as a spectator, but got bored, and thankfully Tim was open to letting us whip the Mini around to finish out the year.

Supported my favorite place on the planet (the Speedbowl) by pulling my Crown Vic out of the weeds and landing on the podium one of 2 times.

I gave my crew guy Glen another opportunity to pilot my whip as a thank you for his help all year. I let an internet-turned-real friend from over a decade ago Kenny Hyde take my car to Long Island to compete in a big Street Stock event.

I helped one of my best friends fulfill a dream of being behind the wheel, even if it was just an enduro.

I helped my dad go out there and have a blast on track, and subsequently watched him almost get merc'd in the turn 1 wall.

2023 was one for the record books. And I wouldn't change a thing.

This sport is special.

I'm going to enjoy the off-season, then come out swinging in 2024!

It still feels unreal.

I've been in the position to win before, and for one reason or another, blew it.

I've struggled, alot.

But we never gave up.

So many great people have their hands in the pot, but we never had the formula to seal the deal.

When our Super X-Car career started, we fought motor cooling issues mostly. Then had to rear clip the car. Then had to front clip the car. Then the body got reworked and our weights were thrown off. I don't even know the history of this thing.

The motor was freshened and fixed at Larry's Auto Machine in 2022 and the overheating was solved. But the handling problems remained.

An attempt at this and that all season just wasn't working, and when the axle broke, that felt like the 'what else can go wrong' moment. I wanted to quit.

I fixed the car, with the help and knowledge B&H Race Chassis gave me.

We got to the track.

The studs on the rusty spare axle stripped before practice.

I made parts runs, more problems appeared. I wanted to start and park.

We fixed it, with the help of the Skinners.

No practice, the track gave me a couple laps to make sure I was safe.

Won the heat.

Won the feature.

Led every lap, all day.

Quitting seems like the easy route, but for racers, it doesn't seem to be in the vocabulary. 4 years at the bowl. 1 at Lebanon Valley. All trying to improve myself as a driver from someone who only knew Saturn's, has finally paid off.

I'm still riding this high, and I don't care who it annoys.

Mom & Pops, Aunt Sally, Glen, Pete, Ben, Tim, Rich, everyone who lent a hand. It finally paid off.

Go pro footage is back!
And it was a thriller of a heat race.

First heat race of the season was pretty dicey

Rain won last night at the Bowl.
Only made it out for one round of practice and finished 4th in the heat race.

Car felt comfortable as we search for some more speed, back at it again next week for double features!
