Team had a great morning at !
Ana and Dexter started out the day in the Long Stirrup division after we got there a little later than planned and had to go right in the ring and do their course. She rocked it and I was super proud. Earned 2 seconds and a third place finish.
Next up was Hannah on Dexter (first ever show for Hannah!) in the Pony Pleasure Division. She earned a fourth and a fifth place finish, and did a great job of listening and paying attention in her classes, and rode her little heart out.
Next up was me! Yes, I stepped into the show ring for the first time in over two years, and before that it had been since 2014?
Riding Mikes Shall we Dance “Dancer” in the 2ft low hunters we earned a third in the hack and we won our second over fences class. Had I jumped the correct jump in our first course we may have placed in that over fences. I am especially proud of this mare because I only started jumping her seriously a few months ago, this was her first show, first time jumping jumps with proper fillers, and only the 3rd or 4th time she had jumped a full course with me. All in all, we had a great day and I could not have been more pleased. I love my kiddos so much!! Onto the next show!!!

We would like to offer a big congratulations to Bryce for the lease of her first horse! “Dude” is a 2013 Irish Sport Horse gelding who has competed in a little bit of everything, and I’m looking forward to watching their partnership and having him show her the ropes!! We are so excited to have him here!

Two new friends for the month, that I get to go hack at another barn while they are in Ocala for the month. Been awhile since I have ridden in an indoor with mirrors! Loving this beautiful weather 🥰🥰🥰

When I think of all the hours I put in, it’s a lot. But I do it because I love it, and I love that I can give these girls the chance to have the best days of their lives. It fills my heart with so much happiness so see these laughing faces

River is a GORGEOUS 5 yo OTTB who stands at 16 h. He has an in your pocket personality, and is a barn favorite. Coming off 6 months of training, he is looking for a new partner to continue learning with while his owner won’t be riding for awhile. He is still green but is quiet and more whoa than go, and is starting over fences. Lovely movements with looks to match, he would excel in the hunter ring. Great option for an intermediate rider who may be looking to do some local shows. Located at Budding Equestrians it Waterford, VA. 1 lesson a week with me WILL be required. We had a great first “Reading with Horses”! This might be my new favorite thing, it was adorable! As a bookworm at heart, this makes my soul happy as it brings together two of my favorite things. Come join us next week!

****Disclaimer*** for all the negative Nancy’s out there that might comment on how could you let your child lay in front of a horse like this…..this is the only horse i would trust to do this kind of thing with as I have had him for 24 years. He was well supervised and this was not an unsafe situation by any means.

When you make your students day by telling them they can hop on your horse and warm them up for you since they’ve been working their butt off. And then you get to get on and jump your pony some 🥰.

A little late in posting but we had a great show day yesterday! Thank you to Cindy Lytle for putting on a great schooling show and giving my first time kids and green horses a welcoming and encouraging environment for their first show.

Bryce took 88 in the ground poles division and did a great job handling his green antics first time off property. 3 4ths and a 2nd in her division and a good first show experience!

Bella took Dexter in the hunter pleasure division and got 3 3rds and a 5th, riding fantastic after battling some first timer nerves.
I am so proud of my kiddos and how well they did for their first show!

I finally was able to take Global to his first show. There was A LOT of anxiety on his part, as it was really his first time trailering off the farm, and the schooling ring blew his mind a bit. He eventually mostly settled and we did 2 flat classes and 2 over fences classes. We got a 6th in our first course, I wasn’t expecting any kind of placing so to get any ribbon I was thrilled with. It wasn’t the prettiest of trips but we went over everything and have more to work on at home for our next show! Onward and upward!
