The weird part of End of the Road gets most of the attention. The race part still has to be good.

Running through miles of old Turnpike and dark tunnels is supposed to feel unusual.

Figuring out where to park, where to go, what time things happen, or what kind of headlamp you need shouldn’t.

That’s why the website lays out the practical stuff clearly: Weekend schedule, locations, parking, headlamp suggestions, course information, and more. The Athlete Guide and FAQ are there so you can answer all of those questions before race weekend even starts.

We want the memorable part to be the tunnels, the costumes, the old Turnpike, and the race itself — not trying to figure out logistics at the last minute.

Gremlins is our featured film at this year's race. 😈

Join us on Saturday, October 24 at 6:30 PM ET at the start/finish area for an eerie good time under the stars. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs—tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids 16 & under, and include snacks! Space is limited to 100 people, so grab your spot if you haven’t already.

You don’t have to run 13.1 miles to get the End of the Road experience.

The Sunday One Tunnel 4 Miler still takes you onto the historic Pennsylvania Turnpike, through 2.4 miles of tunnel, and into the same race-weekend atmosphere as the Half Marathon.

It’s a great option if you want the tunnel, the headlamp, the fall scenery, and the finish line — just in a more approachable distance.

Run it. Walk it. Race it. Costume it.

Are you a Rambler or a Tunnel Traveler?

Some people finish the Half on Saturday and call it a weekend.

Some go back to the start line on Sunday morning.

The Road-Closed Rambler is a Half Marathon Saturday + Half Marathon Sunday for 26.2 miles over two days.

The Tunnel Traveler pairs Saturday’s Half with Sunday’s One Tunnel 4 Miler for 17.1 miles.

Two different ways to make End of the Road a full weekend instead of one race.

The iconic tunnel is recessed into the metal. The bricks are a molded stone texture. And the medal is 4"x4", 5mm thick, and finished in an antiqued silver.

The tunnels get most of the photos.

But the Half Marathon has about eight miles outside them, too. And 1.5 miles of the One Tunnel 4 miler take place outside the tunnels.

Get ready for miles on the old Turnpike surrounded by fall color. Long stretches where you can settle into your pace. Runners ahead of you and behind you, but plenty of room to run your own race.

The tunnels are what make End of the Road different, but they’re not the whole race.
