If you give people an excuse to wear a costume, they'll usually take it.

Some people show up with one costume.

Some show up with a costume for Saturday and a different costume for Sunday.

Some convince their friends to match.

The old PA Turnpike has seen construction cones, superheroes, Georgie, cryptids, and things we're still not entirely sure how to describe.

Time to start planning your costume!

People! (and some dogs)

Fast people! (Half Marathon record: 1:18:13)

Costumed people! (Bonus points for two different costumes if you're running Saturday and Sunday.)

People who walk! (The Half course is open 4.5 hours; the 4 Mile course is open 4.1 hours.)

People who just run one day. People who do a Two Day Challenge!

A lot of people go into the tunnels at End of the Road expecting them to feel creepy or intense.

And they are, a little.

But after a few minutes, most people settle in and start talking to each other.

You hear footsteps echoing way ahead of you. Little dots of headlamps in the distance. People stopping to take photos. Somebody inevitably brings up that scenes from The Road were filmed out there.

Then eventually you come back out into the daylight and everybody’s squinting for a minute because they forgot how bright it was outside.

It’s a strange race environment, but once you’re in it, it starts feeling normal surprisingly fast.

Join us on Saturday, October 24 at 6:30 PM ET at the start/finish area for an eerie good time under the stars. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs—tickets are $10 for adults and free for kids 16 & under, and include snacks! Space is limited to 100 people, so grab your spot if you haven’t already.

Friday night at End of the Road is packet pickup at the Holiday Inn Breezewood. People getting in from out of town, checking in, grabbing dinner somewhere nearby, talking about headlamps and tunnels in the lobby. The last two years we've done an "emergency spraypaint improvement" session.

Then Saturday morning everybody heads out to the old PA Turnpike.

Some people are trying to run a fast Half Marathon. Some are there mostly for the experience of running through the tunnels. Some are already talking about coming back Sunday for the Two Day Challenge. Some have different costumes for Saturday and Sunday.

Then Saturday night everybody’s back out on the Turnpike for Movie Night.

It’s a pretty unique race weekend with a lot of different ways to join in the fun.

Help us pick this year’s movie!

One of the traditions at End of the Road is Movie Night on the Turnpike on Saturday night.

We’ll be out at the historic Pennsylvania Turnpike section with runners, crews, volunteers, lawn chairs, snacks, and a campy, slightly spooky movie to make this a whole weekend experience.
