Speaking to Dale, he highlighted some of his accomplishments to me about his motorcycle drag racing school. I figured it was best to save the first for last. An inductee into the 2026 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, Dale Walker created the first motorcycle drag racing school. This video highlights some of his accomplishments during that time. We wish him well during his health issues.

Gadson established his motorcycle drag racing school around 2001, after recognizing that riders were buying increasingly powerful motorcycles without necessarily having the skills to control them at the drag strip. His program emphasized learning the rider's technique rather than simply adding horsepower.

George Bryce and his wife Jackie founded Star Racing in 1980. George eventually became a six-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle World Champion and accumulated more than 80 NHRA national-event victories.

But Star Racing's influence wasn't limited to building race bikes.

Bessie Stringfield (1911–1993) was one of the most remarkable pioneers in American motorcycling. Nicknamed the “Motorcycle Queen of Miami,” she became famous for riding solo across the United States at a time when doing so was extraordinarily difficult for a Black woman.

Dale “Holeshot” Walker is one of the most accomplished racers, tuners, engineers, and educators in the history of motorcycle drag racing. His career spans the transition from the early production-bike era into highly developed Funny Bike, Top Fuel, and Pro Street racing.

On May 21, 2000, Davidson took his 1997 Suzuki Bandit 1200 to Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina and accomplished something that had never been done before: he became the first rider to put a street-legal motorcycle into the seven-second quarter-mile zone. His historic pass was 7.97 seconds at approximately 179 mph.

Sid Pogue was one of the early stars of Pro Stock Motorcycle racing, competing during the formative years when the class was establishing its identity. He was an Oklahoma racer who became particularly associated with Kawasaki Z1/Z1-R machines and was one of the riders who helped push early Pro Stock motorcycles into performance territory that seemed almost unbelievable at the time.
