We have been having discussions in regards to the heat, the Wetbulb, safety of these boys and everything in between.
There was a vote held late last night on how to proceed knowing what the temps would be this Saturday.
Majority vote was to continue to have the games.
For transparency, Washington’s vote was to cancel the game and move it to the end of the regular season, pushing playoffs back one week.
However, that was not majority and so I’ve been on the phone with OCS & Jones to find out best possible scnerios for our kids and what makes the most sense moving forward.
Our 2 Flag teams
Team Townsend and Team Salazar

♦️We will perform a Wet Bulb test on the field about every 30 minutes to monitor the heat conditions.
♦️We will follow the OSSAA game guidelines based on the Wet Bulb reading:
-RED Level: 3 minute break every 6 minutes. All helmets removed, no coaching.
-BLACK Level: 3 minute break every 4 minutes. All helmets removed, no coaching.
Cheerleaders will also be taking frequent breaks.
Parents,
Please encourage your kiddo to drink plenty of water and hydrate. That will help tremendously.
- I will have 2 Large canopy pop up tents on our sideline for shade.
- I will have cooling rags and ice chest on the sideline
- Also looking into fans and misters for the tent
- All our coaches are trained and have taken heat related illnesses classes to look for signs in our kids.
The Safety of our kids is our number one priority.
Let’s go Warriors!
