Hey ToC Fans!

Here's an update on the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft.

*Morez Johnson, jr. of Michigan (Chicago St. Rita- 2021/22) has been extremely impressive in NBA Draft workouts. He is now being projected as a possible Lottery Pick in the upcoming draft.

*Milan Momcilovic of Iowa State (Pewaukee, WI- 2021/22) has withdrawn from this year's draft and has signed with the Kentucky Wildcats for his senior season. Momcilovic was projected as an early 2nd round selection had he stayed in the Draft.

*Jeremy Fears jr. of Michigan State (Joliet West, IL- 2022) has also withdrawn from this year's draft and will be a strong candidate for 1st Team All-America honors for the Spartans. Fears was projected as a mid to late 2nd rounder had he stayed in the draft.

*Barry Dunning jr. of Pittsburgh (McGill-Toolen, AL- 2019) has started to open some NBA front office eyes with his workouts of late. The Mavericks, Pacers and Spurs are showing the most interest in Dunning. He is a projected late 2nd round pick in this year's draft.

*Kashie Natt of Sam Houston State (Rayville, LA- 2018) is a unicorn-type player. He is only 6'3", but he averaged 8.5 rebounds a game this past season for the Bearkats. Natt is a defensive stopper and a human-highlight film! Natt could become the steal of the draft.

The NBA Draft is June 23rd and 24th. Stayed tuned for more ToC updates with this year's draft.

The Pirates were one of the most dominating teams to ever play in the ToC. In 2011, the Pirates won the Washington Invitational over nationally ranked Montgomery Carver, Alabama- 72-60.

The Pirates only loss came in the Illinois 4A state championship game against nationally ranked Chicago Simeon by the score of, 50-48.

The Pirates boasted a roster that included 2 future NBA players and 6 Division I players. Here is a look at the players from this magnificent squad and their ToC statistics from the Washington Invitational.

6'1" Sr. Keith Carter, 17.5 ppg- 3.8 apg (MVP)
* Carter would later play at Valparaiso.

6'4" Jr. Sterling Brown, 12.5 ppg- 7.8 rpg- 3.0 spg (All-Tournament)
* Brown would play for SMU, before a 6-year career in the NBA with the Bucks, Lakers, Mavericks and Rockets.

5'10" Sr. Paris Burns, 11.0 ppg- 2.8 spg- 2.5 apg (All-Tournament)
* Burns would later play at UIC

5'11" Jr. Paris Lee, 10.5 ppg- 3.5 apg- 3.3 spg
* Lee would play at Illinois State before a 7-year professional career overseas

5'11" So. Jevon Carter, 4.8 ppg
* Carter would play at West Virginia before an 8-year career with the Bucks, Grizzlies, Suns, Nets, Bulls and Magic

THERESA ARMSTRONG
Volunteer/Sponsor/ToC Super Fan

For 18 years, Theresa Armstrong has served as a volunteer with the ToC. She has always made a concerted effort to assist in any way possible. Theresa has been a ticket taker, worked at tournament central at the media table and has helped in concessions and with the hospitality room.

Theresa and her sister Amy Reed have been extremely helpful in all facets of the event. The two would always brave the cold at Tournament Central on the early mornings as the door opened and closed on such frequency, they had to work in heavy, winter coats.

Theresa was not afraid to stand her ground either- once banning Shawn Powell from the hospitality room for not wearing his ToC lanyard. Theresa is all about rules- she's a stickler, I tell you. A Stickler!

Theresa's sons Ben and Sam have both worked with the ToC as well. Ben has been an integral part of the ToC for many years! (His day is coming- btw).

Theresa has also been a sponsor for the event!

But, more than anything- Theresa has been one of the event's biggest fans! Other than Dora's team- she has thoroughly enjoyed the players, teams and competition of the ToC, from its beginnings.

So, thank you, Theresa! For always being there when we needed you. Your presence has never been forgotten. Welcome to the ToC Den of Honor.

KON KNUEPPEL
Wisconsin Lutheran, Wisconsin- 2022

Kon Knueppel is one of the hottest names in the NBA! Knueppel, who is the favorite to win this year's NBA's Rookie of the Year Award, averaged 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists for the Charlotte Hornets. Knueppel broke the NBA rookie record for 3-pointers in a season with 273! His 273 3's also led the NBA this season.

Let's take a look at Knueppel's last few seasons of hoops....

*2022- Knueppel was named to the ToC All-Shootout Team after contributing 19 points, 8 boards and 5 assists in a victory over Moline.

*2024- Knueppel was named Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin with averages of 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Knueppel led his Vikings to a state championship and was ranked as a TOP 10 player in the nation.

*2025- At Duke University, Knueppel averaged 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. He was named to the All-Freshman Team, 2nd team All-ACC and was MVP of the ACC Tournament.

*Knueppel was taken in the first round (4th overall pick) of the NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets.

*2026- Knueppel should be named Rookie of the Year in the NBA- we will see.

In the past two decades, Tony Irons has been one of the nation's most successful head coaches. Irons has coached in the ToC on multiple occasions with three different high schools. Irons led his Wolverines to the 2021 Washington Invitational championship with a, 59-52, victory over Chicago St. Rita.

At Vashon, Irons coached his Wolverines to 7 state titles in 9 years and amassed a record of 216-38. He has 326 career wins in his high school coaching career.

Irons is now the Head Coach at Mineral Area College.

Congratulations, Coach Irons on a tremendous high school coaching career. We would like to welcome you to the ToC Den of Honor.
