Hi Everyone,
I wanted to give an update on everything going on with my dad, but first I wanted to thank everyone who liked, reacted, commented or shared their well wishes with our family online and offline.
On June 4th my father went to the emergency room with pain in his abdomen. We honestly didn’t think much of this until a few hours later the doctors confirmed that he has colon cancer.
After two surgeries to remove masses in his intestines and colon, my dad spent the next few days in the hospital leaving on Saturday June 8th.
My dad spent the next week and a half at my sister Tracie’s. He recovered enough from the surgery to be cleared to move back home this past Tuesday June 18th.
The surgery recovery has gone well to date and we are waiting for the clearance from the surgeon to start chemo.
Poppa Tom has already been antsy to return to work and even came in to help put decals on baseball helmets.
We are very blessed and thankful to have such a great community and support system around us. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you all.
Please continue to pray as we begin this next chapter of our lives.
Fear not though because my father is a fighter. As are my sister and myself and we will come out of this stronger and we will cherish each other more than ever before.
