TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT:
“Retired Law Enforcement Officer Qualification”
This course is designed to serve as the annual handgun qualification for Retired Law Enforcement Officers, in compliance with state and federal law. Applicants must meet the definition of “Retired Law Enforcement Officer” in the law and be in possession of an Act 37 compliant retired ID Card from their department.
Date: Sunday, April 12, 2026
Time: 1200 Start – please arrive by 1145
Location: FOP Lodge 47, Eighty-Four, PA
Fees: Below fees are for up to two (2) guns:
FOP Lodge 47 Members $75.00
(Early Bird mail-in $65.00: must be postmarked by 03/28/26)
Non-FOP 47 Members $95.00
(Early Bird mail-in $85.00: must be postmarked by 03/28/26)

Act 37 compliant Agency Retired Law Enforcement Officer ID Card

Other government-issued ID card (driver’s license, carry permit, etc.)
Up to 2 (two) guns with which you intend to qualify
(You must carry “a firearm of the same type” as that with which you qualify – there is no specific definition of “type” of firearm in the PA Law)

Sufficient ammunition / 100 rounds for each gun – course is 30 rounds; bringing only 30 will not give you any practice ammo, or re-qual ammo if needed.
If you need your qualification to count for employment, you will need 50 rounds, and a specific serial number weapon, not one of “the same type”.
Ammunition is required to be factory-new, and you must qualify with the same ammunition you intend to carry.
AT LEAST 3 (three) loading devices (speed loaders / magazines) for each gun

Eye protection

Hearing protection
•
Hat with brim
•
Weather appropriate clothing to include rain gear if necessary – NO PONCHOS – All rain gear must be a jacket -type covering

Closed-toed shoes
•
Over-garment for concealed draw training
•
Strong-side hip holster that can be holstered using one hand - Rigid polymer or similar types are highly recommended.
NO CROSS DRAW, ANKLE, SHOULDER, OR SMALL OF THE BACK HOLSTERS ARE PREMITTED.
Shooters who arrive to qualify without all necessary equipment will not be permitted to shoot.
When in doubt as to whether you “need” it or not, BRING IT! Anything you think you might need does you no good if it is left sitting at home!
