Big week of high school hoops for the Mayor and your humble announcer. I’ll be headed solo to the Valley Tuesday night for a big clash of speed when the Lady Colts host Mansfield Senior, then back to Big Lex for both Lady Lex and boyz games Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the house-of-thrills! So come on out and enjoy some great, inexpensive entertainment and plenty of mediocre pronouncing😁🎤…GOOOOO BIG LEX/COLTS!

Talking about being BLINDSIDED? Geesh! It’s taken a couple days to process everything that went down during my final regular season Mystics game, and “thank you” doesn’t come close to expressing my gratitude to everyone that sent their well wishes and congratulatory notes Sunday afternoon in DC. It was an unbelievable and TOTALLY unexpected sendoff by everybody involved with the Mystics organization. In particular, a heartfelt “thank you” to Game Entertainment Manager Nick Raines for the spectacular crystal microphone and personalized framed Mystics jersey…and to friend and Mystics head coach and General Manager Mike Thibault and Mystics associate head coach Eric Thibault for their kind words and taking time to fete this old buzzard…also the kind words from our TV play-by-play team Meghan and Christy…plus Mystics players Natasha Cloud and Ariel Atkins for the hugs and high-fives as I left the court…and especially to our sold out, house-of-thrills Mystics Nation for the emotional standing O. I will admit my eyes got a little misty🥲. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions for sure…So, after +300 WNBA and NBA games, last Sunday is the day that will be forever and indelibly etched in my memory. It has been the ride of a lifetime…and I couldn’t have written a better ending. 😁Thank you all! Now….ON TO THE PLAYOFFS! GOOOOO MYSTICS!

Finally have a chance to take a deep breath after an unbelievable Mystics WNBA championship season to add a few pics to my work FB page. It was a blur to say the least... but one I’ll never forget. Thanks to Donna Parry for catching the action...and Elaine for being the #1 Mystics fan all season long.
