American University Equestrian Team

American University Equestrian Team Celebrating 20 years this fall! The American University Equestrian Team was founded in the Fall of 2003. All competitions are hunter/jumper equitation (English).

It is a club sport encouraging riders of all levels and disciplines to join. The team competes in Zone 4, Region 1 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). Riders train under the direction of Astrid "Star" Dalley at Oatland Stables in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Team members typically ride once per week and show in approximately 4 to 6 horse shows per semester. Despite the young age of th

e team, members have already qualified for regional and national competitions. The Equestrian team welcomes new members of all experience levels every semester.
