Happy National Coaches Day! ⚽

Today, we celebrate the incredible coaches who make DC Way Academy what it is.

Thank you for your passion, leadership, and dedication to helping our players grow. From every practice to every game, your impact goes far beyond soccer. 🧡🖤

Parent Tip of the Week 🌟

During the game, leave the instructions to the coach. Instead of “Pass!” or “Shoot!”, encourage your child with positive support and let them make their own decisions on the field.

Parent Tip of the Week 🌟

Watch a full game together, not highlights. A whole match, on TV, with your kid. There's a lot to pick up from watching how players move when they don't have the ball, and it's a good hour together.

Game day. ⚽

Our players are hitting the fields this weekend.

Your kid lost the ball on Saturday. You saw their shoulders drop.

Here's the thing. They lost it trying to play forward instead of kicking it away. That's the version we want.

When winning is the only goal, players learn to play safe. Kick it long, avoid the risk, don't try the pass. It works for a while, and then it stops working.

We'd rather they try, get it wrong, and try again. That's what the season is for. 🧡🖤

Parent Tip of the Week 🌟

Your child doesn’t need another coach on the sideline. They need a calm and supportive parent. Your role is to give them the emotional security to navigate the challenges of the game.

Proud to see our DC Way athletes taking their game to the school field! 💪

Last Tuesday, Stuart-Hobson MS and Eliot-Hine MS faced off, with 10+ DC Way athletes representing their schools!

Coaches Carina and Celeste were there to cheer them on and watch our players showcase their skills, teamwork, and love for the game. ⚽

Our DC Way Academy athletes are on high school rosters across DC and Maryland this fall. ⚽️

Watching these players grow, compete, and take the next step is what it’s all about. From their early days with DC Way to representing their high schools today, we’re proud to have been part of their journey, and even more excited to see where the game takes them next.

Congratulations to all of our players! Keep working, keep competing, and most importantly, keep enjoying the game. 👏

Once DC Way, always DC Way. Go have a good season. 🧡🖤
