Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Academy of Washington D.C.

The Washington DC Academy opened its doors in the Capitol Hill Community in February 2008. Sifu Larry Hawkins has been practicing Tai Chi Chuan since 1976.

We are a registered, LLC organization dedicated to the promotion of Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan. In 1975, Grand Master Wu Kwong Yu, eldest son of the 5th generation, came to Toronto to establish the Canadian branch of the Academy, which also has its roots in Asia, Europe, and the US. He has studied in China where the Wu style of Tai Chi began. He began teaching in 1996 under the supervision of Grand Ma

ster Wi Kwong Yu, and became a disciple of his in 2003. Sifu Hawkins moved to the Washington, DC area in 2004 and opened the Academy in February 2008. He continues to train yearly with Grand Master Wu Kwong Yu in Toronto. He has been a Certified Instructor since August 2003. CLASS SCHEDULE:

Beginners:
Tuesday 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Thursday 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Saturday 9am - 10:30am

Intermediate:
Tuesday 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Wednesday 6:00pm-8:00pm
Thursday 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Saturday Open Class 10:30am - 12 noon
