"I started Dissonance because there was no place."

Twenty years later, Founding Producing Artistic Director Shawn Short looks back on how Dissonance Dance Theatre began, the stages we've shared, and the more than 100 dance and theatrical artists who have worked with DDT since 2007. Some went on to national tours, cruise stages, America's Got Talent, MOMIX and UniverSoul Circus.

Dance Spirit Magazine called DDT "one of the 11 small-but-mighty dance companies outside of LA and NYC." That happened because of you: every audience member, dancer, donor, partner and volunteer who showed up.
