It’s Session 8 at NPS Summer, and there is so much going on during this last week of camp!

Our Camp Invention groups have been solving mysteries, inventing, and tinkering!

Our Junior STEAM classrooms are focusing on birds—their homes, their abilities, and their amazing bodies!

Our Active Play campers are exploring multiple sports and enjoying indoor and outdoor play! ⚽️🏀ACTIVE PLAY 🏒🏈

Lastly, our chess campers are learning and practicing new moves and strategies with instructors from Silver Knights Chess Academy!

Desert Survivors week is here! On day two, we saw many cactus-related activities, followed desert animals into their habitats, and got a bit of sand in our boots. Campers and staff alike are soaking up these last bits of NPS Summer time together. We can’t believe this is the last week of “regular” camp!!

We are having a HOOT this week! Eagles examined barn owl pellets with Urban Adventure Squad and made glow in the dark tie-dye shirts. Many classrooms made art inspired by nocturnal animals. Our CITs created a constellation of esteem-building statements. Through it all, we enjoyed classic camp activities, like instructional swim and recess out on the playground!

We met a few furry friends today! A hedgehog, a chinchilla, a tortoise, a chicken, and a gigantic rabbit were the stars of the show this Friday.

The handler from Squeals On Wheels shared a bit of information about each animal, then allowed campers to have some close encounters with these amazing creatures.
