The only type of "functional" training I subscribe to. Canine Battle Ropes. Complete with patented Tuxy-variable-resistance, which is great for muscle confusion.

If you don't film it, it never happened. Doubles at #355 happened. Old, fat, strong is a nice combo for the winter.

Welcome back to !

This week we want to put the spot light on our Keiser leg extension machine.

For those of you who feel knee pain when performing a leg extension, have you tried lining yourself up properly?

As seen above, when relaxed, Erin’s legs naturally face outward (hip external rotation). To keep her path of motion in line with the machines IMPOSED path, Erin needs to slightly internally rotate her hips. This will help line up the plane of her knee axis with the machines axis. This slight change should allow her to not only produce more force but also keep her joints safer for the long haul.

Welcome back to

This week we’re talking about...

‼️ISOMETRICS‼️

One of the reasons for using isometrics is to help “activate” (recruit) more muscle fibers through time under tension. This will allow us to get as close to producing max force as we can within our lifts.

A little sneak peak of what we’re going to talk about tomorrow for !

When putting exercises together to work on our lower body, most people almost never think to train their hip flexors which can have negative effects on our bodies such as injury, perceived "muscle imbalances", and poor performance. If you have poor joint mobility, performing any compound movement that requires contractions between joints is going to be that much harder.

What are the muscles that flex the hip?

(1) Psoas (2) Iliacus (4) Re**us Femoris (5) TFL (6) Pectineus (9) Glute Minimus/Medius anterior
