The University of the District of Columbia Soccer team are known as the UDC Firebirds. The university is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and competes at the Division II level as a member of the East Coast Conference (ECC). Matt Thompson is the Head Coach (the Gaffer) for the UDC Firebirds soccer team. He has a wealth of experience with NCAA Division II Soccer leadin

g two teams, Slippery Rock University (2002-2009), and Lees MacRae (2010-2011) to conference champions and to NCAA tournament berths.
