After training last night, we gathered for a special dinner with our dear friend, former club officer, and Sempai, Hao Wang

As Hao prepares for his next adventure, he reflected on how karate helped him overcome adversity while teaching him determination and resilience.

Thank you for your leadership, friendship, and dedication to our dojo. We wish you all the best and bid you a fond farewell for now.

Some people leave a lasting impact on a dojo, and Berndt and Julie have certainly done just that.

For years, they have been two of our most dedicated club members, generously sharing their time, knowledge, and encouragement with everyone who stepped onto the mat. Their commitment to our dojo and willingness to help others grow have made a lasting difference to so many students.

As they begin a new chapter in their lives, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for everything they have contributed to the JKA Club at GWU. Their presence, friendship, and dedication will be greatly missed, but we are excited for all that lies ahead for them.

Thank you, Berndt and Julie, for your years of service, support, and inspiration. We wish you both happiness, success, and many wonderful adventures in this next chapter.

As part of GWU Sexual Assault Awareness Month, our club partnered with members of Students Against Sexual Assault to provide self-defense, awareness, and simple ways to protect yourself. It was a great experience to build confidence and share practical skills and learning from each other.
