🚨Medal Monday Alert! 🚨 🥇🥈🥉
It was a tough weekend at the office for the athletes who traveled north to compete in their respective races. Long course racing can be so unpredictable and present challenges at every moment
John was unable to complete the Vermont 100, however did manage to cover the longest distance on foot that’s he’s ever completed. A cold, rainy night got the best of him in the end, though reports were that he was looking strong through the halfway mark
Chong finished his first Ironman at Lake Placid! His bike gearing threw him a wrench but once that was sorted out, he had a steady and well-fueled race. Pictured below is his SIL cheering him up the infamous Papa Bear climb!
Becca was having a strong, well-paced race until another racer crashed into her at a bike aid station. The time loss, equipment damage, and cold rain on the run proved to be too much to overcome this time around
Before the race, Becca so thoughtfully expressed that it’s not the race that changes you, but rather the preparation. I have found this to be true on so many occasions. It’s the process and the love of sport that makes the lasting mark, regardless of the outcome. Sometimes failure is our best teacher and propels more growth than our successes
Dust yourself off and try again 🎶
