Red Clay Classic ABC Raceway

Welp we started in the back of our b-main and missed the show by one. All in all, it was for the best as the track glassed off and wasn't much for passing.

We got to enjoy the features with some great company and managed to get everything packed up just in time for the rain.

Unfortunately witht the Sunday race we missed our crew chief in the apple fest parade but he said there is always next year.

ABC Raceway Red Clay Classic has been an interesting one. We went out for our heat, made it almost a lap when the gears blew. Miscommunication lead to a step being missed, no oil was placed and gears couldn't handle the dry life.
Needless to say we have new ones in, oil was placed, witnessed by many and then we rain out. So Apple Fest Sunday we will spend running a b-main from the back and hope for the best.

Nice thing about the weather is it allowed time to slow down with friends close and far, that we don't see often. CeCe even got to watch a movie, have snacks and play with her dear Canadian frield Elle.

Racing starts at noon tomorrow track conditions pending we would guess with the amount of water that came down.

We have been busy and not busy working on race cars...lol. Though we have been spending lot of time in the shop time working on other things. The young boys of the crew needed the shop to get there trucks up and running. We have a 84 Ford Ranger that now runs and drives like a gem. We also have a 97 Chevy Silverado that runs well with no stop ability. Needless to say we have one more day of fiddling with that and then its all hands on the car to prepare for the 51st Red Clay Classic.

Weekend results at Gondik Law Speedway

Night #1 20th-14th
Night #2 24th-18th

The track was really dry slick as they left it sealed with the 80% chance of rain. It was rough trying to find a lane to run and hold on to all weekend but we stayed in one piece and got to try out the engine that we threw together. We almost didn't make our heat on night 2 because the starter didn't want to start her. In the end we got her, thanks to all the people around that jumped in!

Now we need to take a hard look, as we are leaking fluids and we are a little bent somewhere. Some shop time is definitely needed for sure before heading out for the Red Clay Classic.

Shout out to Shawn McFadden on his win on night 2 for the supers! Congrats buddy!!!

Results from the showdown at Gondik Law Speedway.

We started 10th after one qualifying lap instead of two because Don decided why not BE the show and tried to see what it felt like to flip. The video was cut short as mama panicked that were we going to a full send but it only landed on its side.

Once righted we took off to finish our qualifying and scale. We moved up 2 during the race finishing 8th in show. Not so bad. Got some practice in and now to bring it home and check it over close for damage.

What a SEASON!!!!

Started a little rough right off the bat, blowing an engine opening night for the second year in a row. But we came back and had a heck of year.

Tried Hibbing for the first time this year when the Super Series traveled there and managed to get 5th out of 83 cars. That momentum continued to Grand Rapids for a 4th place finish. In the end we finished the series in 5th, first time in the top 10 for us let alone top 5!

We didn't plan to compete for track points anywhere but coming into the last race we were sitting 5th at Gondik but unfortunately the engine decided to set sail.

Our season finished in Superior and the engine is CATASTROPHIC.... looks like nothing is savable.

At this point invitational season is not in sight for our team.

The home built guys are out of used and renewed scab parts. The collection is empty. We have not given up and we will keep looking for what we need but we can only do what we can and are still hopeful that maybe something will come together.
