Our youth Black Bears were on the road at Danville last night, and by all accounts, these boys played hard, competed together, and learned a lot along the way. 🐻🏈

That’s what youth football is all about — getting reps, learning the game, building confidence, and growing as teammates every time they step on the field.

And apparently, Forrest Sowards came ready to WORK. 🤣 We heard he was all over the field making tackles, beating his chest like a gorilla after plays, and even managed to hit somebody hard enough to knock out one of his own teeth.

Still smiling. Still playing. Still having fun. 😂

Proud of all of our young Black Bears for competing hard and continuing to build the future of River View Football.

Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep having fun. Black Bear Strong.

This is the kind of message that means more than any number on a scoreboard. 🐻🏈

After Friday night’s game, we received this message from a spectator from the opposing team, and we felt it was worth sharing.

Of course, every football program wants to win. We compete hard, we prepare to win, and we expect our guys to give everything they have. But at the end of the day, our responsibility goes far beyond football.

We’re helping build young men of character — teaching them how to carry themselves, respect others, face adversity, work together, and represent something bigger than themselves. Those are lessons they’ll carry long after the pads come off and their playing days are over.

To the person who took the time to send this message: thank you. Your words meant a great deal to our players, coaches, and program.

That’s what Black Bear Football is about. 🖤💛

Congratulations to our River View Junior High football team on a 34-0 win over Crooksville tonight!

We’re proud of the way these young men continue to work, compete, and grow together. Every practice, every rep, and every game is about more than the scoreboard — it’s about building the foundation for the future of Black Bear Football.

A big thank you to Chuck Donnell with Lonestar Fire Protection and Security,LLC for stepping up and helping our Junior High Black Bears tonight. 🐻🏈

Chuck generously allowed our program to use his trailer to haul equipment for the trip to Crooksville, making the night a little easier for our players and coaches.

We’re also incredibly grateful for his continued support as a Legend Fund Sponsor. Support like this is what makes a strong program and an even stronger community.

Thank you, Chuck, for always showing up for our kids and Black Bear Football.

A big thank you to River View Class of 1990 alum Matt Majoy for spending some time with our team last night. 🐻🏈

Matt is a former Black Bear quarterback who held multiple school records, and it meant a lot to have him back around the program sharing in the brotherhood.

He also treated the team to pizza — and we’re grateful for the support.

Black Bear Country — it’s time to pack the stands. 🐻🏈Our first home game of the season is here, and our players are ready to represent River View under the Friday night lights.

We’re asking our students, families, alumni, and community to show up in black & gold, be loud, and rally behind this team.

This is bigger than football. It’s school pride, community pride, and showing our young men that Black Bear Country stands behind them.
