While many of us are still riding the high from State, it’s already time to gear up for our final celebration! Join us as we toast to a year of hard work, growth, and success.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR STATE COMPETITORS! 🏆

Our Speech and Debate team just returned from a long, successful weekend at the State Tournament at Missouri State University. These students have been prepping since September, and their hard work truly paid off!

The Results:

Public Forum Debate: Wade Petersmeyer & Malia Hopper advanced to Quarterfinals and medaled 6th in the State!

Poetry Reading: A double medal win! KJ McJannet took 4th and Nevaeh Brown took 5th!

Radio Speaking: KJ McJannet medaled at 6th in the State.

Extemporaneous Speaking: Wade Petersmeyer (8th, International) and Malia Hopper (8th, US) both brought home medals!

Informative Speaking: Wade Petersmeyer medaled at 8th in the State.

We also want to recognize Jamie Berra (9th in Radio, 23rd in LD), Malia Hopper (9th in Oratory, 22nd in Dramatic), and the Duo team of Cheyenne Barnes and Aliva Herbel for their incredible effort in Springfield.

Speech and Debate is a marathon, not a sprint. Between flipping sides in debates and perfecting speech pieces for months, these students have shown incredible dedication. We are so proud of you! ❤️ 📣

The energy is high and the talent is even higher! Huge congratulations to our incredible students who have powered through the preliminary rounds to secure their spots as State Finalists.

Late Night update! Wade Petersmeyer and Malia Hopper pulled out to quarterfinals! We are so very proud of them for placing in the top 8 in the state for Class 1!

AND they're off! Debate rounds have started. The arguments finalized and the scores rolling in! We can't wait to see the final results. Regardless of the final scores, we are so proud of all of the progress this year! Remember, this one judge and one score does not define who you are as a competitor!

Our students spend all year bringing words to life through performance and research, and today, they start their biggest chapter yet!
