How to improve badminton fitness?๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ‘‡

Improving badminton fitness means training for four things at once:

1. Explosive movement
2. Endurance between rallies and matches
3. Recovery speed
4. Injury resistance and mobility

Badminton is closer to repeated sprint training than long-distance cardio. Short bursts, fast direction changes, and recovery matter most.

1. Build badminton-specific cardio

Steady jogging helps a little, but badminton fitness improves fastest with interval work.

Best conditioning methods

* Court sprints
* Shuttle runs
* Skipping rope
* HIIT bike or rowing intervals
* Ghosting drills (moving around court without hitting)

Example badminton interval session

* 20 seconds hard effort
* 40 seconds recovery
* Repeat 10โ€“15 rounds

Or:

* 6 corner court movement
* 30 seconds work
* 30 seconds rest
* 8โ€“12 rounds

These mimic rally demands much better than long runs.

2. Improve footwork speed

Badminton fitness is heavily tied to movement efficiency.
