Now that i have had the opportunity to regroup from this weekends events, i wanted to take the time out to thank each and every participant and supporter of Sundays competitions!!!
The amount of support that we received was OVERWHELMING, and i am still reeling from the amazing competition that transpired from sun up to sun down! The energy was infectious and amazing, and the exciting divisions across the board gave everyone plenty to cheer for.

This event was an ohmage to old school competition with a new school feel, and demonstrated the direction that we are looking to push towards which is a no nonsense, politic free environment that is both competitive and FUN! Its not often that we as instructors get an opportunity to be a fan of our students, and i saw each and every instructor present enjoying their students hard work and competitive success!

Between the jiu-jitsu portion and the karate portion there are so many people to thank. Over the next few days i will do my very best to acknowledge each and every one of you, however after a long weekend and flight back if i may miss or fail to acknowledge anyone i do ask that you charge it to my head and not my heart! If you have ever promoted an event you know that the event itself takes a tremendous amount of effort and energy to plan, the day of the event is both exhausting and grueling, and post event, often times, the work has not concluded, so again please forgive me if i may overlook someone in my old age, lol, i PROMISE you that we are grateful and we love and appreciate you!!!

I do however want to extend a very special thanks to my staff that were present from beginning to end, not only putting in a 12 hour day of working hard to ensure that things ran as smoothly as they possibly could, but many of you competed as well and did an OUTSTANDING job! I have ALWAYS been blessed with the most loyal and dedicated people in my life, and i simply couldn't ask for a better group of individuals. Thanks to all of the judges and refs that came early and stayed late to make sure that both events ran smoothly, and thanks to everyone who contributed to the overall success of this event! I am excited for the next one and i hope that you are too!!! There is PLENTY more to come!!!

Now that the smoke has cleared and i have had an opportunity to catch my breath, i would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every individual that participated and supported our humble event.

What was initially meant to be a reunion event turned out to be something that far exceeded my expectations! The sole purpose of this event was to promote fellowship and friendship while abstaining from the negativity and politics that our beloved sport has come to be associated with, and this event did just that! No complaining, no controversy, just great competition! This event was EXTREMELY competitive from the under belt to the black belt divisions, a true ohmage to old school martial arts competition, and i was thoroughly impressed with each and every competitor!!!

We would like to start by thanking GrandMaster David J Praim and the entire K.I. Tang Soo Do Organization for their support!!! We kicked the event off with one of the most competitive and intense continuous sparring divisions that i have ever witnessed! This event was so competitive and entertaining that it compelled the K.I. Institute to donate a $50 cash prize to the winner of the continuous sparring division (unbeknownst to the competitors)! The gesture, help, and full support from your academy was most appreciated!

Thanks to Master Olu Jabari and the entire JMAA team on their support! You have some great up and coming competitors with a bright martial arts future!

Thanks to Kevin Bolden and team ATA on participating and supporting! We look forward to having you guys at more of our future events!

A huge thanks goes to my very good friend Askia Allison and the entire Metro United Karate Team for coming down and bringing that competitive fire that we have become accustomed to seeing! I greatly appreciate both the help, and participation from you and your team and i'm excited about what the future has in store!

Last but not least, i would like to thank the entire Soo Do Thai team for their undying and unyielding loyalty, commitment, and support! It was so good to see so many of you attend and participate! My heart was, and still is full! You guys showed that no matter what, Soo Do Thai will NEVER die, and we are still here and have work to do! Thank you for representing in the true Soo Do Thai spirit and way!

Please forgive me if i missed personally thanking/acknowledging anyone, i'm a bit jet lagged and fatigued from my travels, lol. However please know that your support is not unappreciated and did not go unnoticed!

We will post pictures soon! Stay tuned!

Thanks again everyone!!! See you at the next one!!!
