Another beautiful summer smallmouth caught on a simple nightcrawler.

Friday July 4th is our Pa Fish for Free Day.

What’s this mean ? -
On July 4th, Pennsylvania designates a "Fish-for-Free Day," meaning residents and non-residents can fish in the state's waterways without needing a fishing license!!!

Lots of stocked trout still around the local streams, Chapman Dam seems to be fishing well, and the Allegheny River looks to be dropping to a safely wadeable flow soon.

The water levels on the local streams look fantastic, as does the overcast day that they currently have forecasted.
The Bait on the Fly bait cooler at Allegheny Outfitters is stocked with fresh lively bait for your fishing needs this weekend.
Bent Run Brewery is holding their annual Bentfest, so you may have to park a bit further away. I believe there are still tickets available for this great showcase of music and local beverages .

In light of the recent rain 🌧️ , It’s typically been my experience that nothing out produces the scent attraction of live natural bait in high off color water.
That being said, the Bait on the Fly cooler at Allegheny Outfitters is fully stocked with fresh lively bait for the First Day of Trout season ! Shops open til 6pm !!!!
