Natty Ice Fall After Strong Showing By Devil Rays. Loss LCS. 3-2

Natty Ice couldn't keep up with Devil Rays and fell 10-2 on Tuesday.

Natty Ice opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Natty Ice first got on the board when Trevor Foster singled, scoring one run.

Darius Beck doubled, which helped Devil Rays tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.

Devil Rays took the lead in the bottom of the third. Spencer Woolley singled, scoring one run, to give Devil Rays the lead, 3-2.

Matt DeSalvo earned the win for Devil Rays. The right-handed pitcher allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four. Hubert took the loss for Natty Ice. The hurler went four innings, surrendering five runs on six hits, striking out three and walking four.

Foster and Blake Jefferies were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Natty Ice. Natty Ice turned one double play in the game.

Beck led Devil Rays with four runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Andrew Kendrick and Beck each collected two hits for Devil Rays. Devil Rays had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Alarik Sierra and Koby Zupko led the team with two bases on balls each.

Natty Ice Falls To Devil Rays In Low-Scoring Affair

Both teams were strong on the bump on Monday, but Devil Rays was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over Natty Ice. Matt Schultz started the game for Natty Ice and recorded 21 outs.

Natty Ice was right in it until Devil Rays tripled in the seventh inning.

Devil Rays opened the scoring in the second after Scott McDermott singled, scoring one run.

Keith Berger grounded out, which helped Natty Ice tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

Koby Zupko earned the win for Devil Rays. They allowed one hit and zero runs over four and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking four. Schultz took the loss for Natty Ice. The starting pitcher went seven innings, surrendering two runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking two. Jarrett Orbin stepped on the mound first for Devil Rays. The righty surrendered three hits and one run over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two.

Berger led the team with one run batted in. Andrew Cupan, Trevor Foster, Derek Morrison, and Chris Parker each collected one hit for Natty Ice. Natty Ice had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Hubert and Morrison led the team with two bases on balls each.

McDermott and Zupko were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Devil Rays. Ray Hill and Zupko each collected two hits for Devil Rays. Devil Rays turned one double play in the game.

Natty Ice Go Down On Final Play Against Devil Rays. Ice leads series 2-1.

A walk-off left Natty Ice on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Devil Rays on Sunday. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Alarik Sierra singled, scoring one run.

Natty Ice lost despite out-hitting Devil Rays 11 to eight. Andrew Cupan, Peyton Zupko, Derek Morrison, and Chris Parker each collected two hits for Natty Ice.

Natty Ice opened the scoring in the first after Trevor Foster hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Natty Ice committed an error, which helped Devil Rays tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Natty Ice took the lead, 4-1, in the top of the second thanks to singles by Hubert, and Zupko.

Sierra hit into a double play, which helped Devil Rays tie the game at four in the bottom of the fifth.

Mike Nuzzo earned the win for Devil Rays. The starting pitcher allowed 11 hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking two. Sebastian Lay took the loss for Natty Ice. They went six innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out seven and walking six.

Natty Ice collected 11 hits in the game. Hubert led Natty Ice with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-4 on the day. Natty Ice turned one double play in the game.

Sierra, Andrew Kendrick, and Spencer Woolley each collected two hits for Devil Rays. Sierra, Kendrick, and Ray Hill each drove in one run for Devil Rays. Koby Zupko paced Devil Rays with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Devil Rays turned one double play in the game.

Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Natty Ice Victory Over Devil Rays. Take 2-0 MVAA League Championship Series Lead.

It came down to the wire on Saturday, as Natty Ice grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 13-12, over Devil Rays. The game was tied at 12 in the bottom of the seventh when Andrew Cupan singled, scoring the game winning run.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Natty Ice collected 14 hits and Devil Rays 12 in the high-scoring affair.

Devil Rays got on the board in the second inning after Vinny Lucente singled, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, Natty Ice took the lead after JT Hubert walked, Derek Morrison singled, and Trevor Foster walked, each scoring one run.

Devil Rays jumped back into the lead in the top of the third inning after Dylan Duchek doubled, and Andrew Kendrick homered to left field, each scoring two runs.

Natty Ice jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Peyton Zupko singled, scoring one run, and Blake Jefferies doubled, scoring two runs.

Devil Rays retook the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Duchek homered to center field, Alarik Sierra grounded out, and Ryan Cheslik grounded out, each scoring one run.

Natty Ice made the score 9-8 in the bottom of the sixth after Keith Berger drew a walk, scoring one run, and Cupan doubled, scoring two runs.

Devil Rays took their final lead, 12-9, in the top of the seventh thanks to singles by Lucente, and Scott McDermott.

Natty Ice walked it off, 13-12, in the bottom of the seventh after Foster singled, Jefferies singled, Chris Parker singled, and Cupan singled, each scoring one run.

Zupko earned the win for Natty Ice. The reliever gave up three hits and four runs over one inning, striking out two and walking three. Joe Roth stepped on the hill first for Natty Ice. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and five runs over three and one-third innings, striking out six and walking none. Koby Zupko started the game for Devil Rays. The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and six runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out eight and walking five. Parker appeared in relief for Natty Ice.

Natty Ice tallied 14 hits in the game. Jefferies led Natty Ice with three hits in five at bats. Cupan and Jefferies each drove in three runs for Natty Ice. Berger, Zupko, and Morrison each collected multiple hits for Natty Ice. Hubert paced Natty Ice with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game.

Devil Rays accumulated 12 hits in the game. McDermott led Devil Rays with three hits in five at bats from the leadoff position. Lucente and Duchek each drove in three runs for Devil Rays. Kendrick collected two hits for Devil Rays in three at bats. Spencer Woolley stole two bases. Devil Rays ran wild on the base paths, collecting four stolen bases for the game.

Powerful Pitching Performance From Hubert Carries Natty Ice Past Devil Rays. Take 1-0 Series Lead.

Hubert was dominant on the bump, as the starting pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in Natty Ice's 3-1 victory over Devil Rays on Friday. Hubert gave up one hit and one run over six innings while walking five.

Both teams were strong on the hill. Natty Ice pitchers struck out 11, while Devil Rays sat down six.

Natty Ice got on the board in the top of the seventh inning after Peyton Zupko doubled, scoring two runs.

Jarrett Orbin took the loss for Devil Rays. The starting pitcher went six and one-third innings, giving up three runs on five hits, striking out six and walking three. Joe Roth collected the save.

Zupko provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Natty Ice with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Hubert, Keith Berger, Zupko, Derek Morrison, and Roth each collected one hit for Natty Ice.

Alarik Sierra and Darius Beck were the only offense in the Ray’s lineup, as they each collected one hit for Devil Rays while hitting back-to-back. Sierra went 1-for-2 at the plate as the second baseman led the team with one run batted in. Sierra stole two bases. Devil Rays turned four double plays in the game. Devil Rays were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.

Natty Ice play Game 2 at home on Saturday.

Natty Ice’s NABF World Series journey officially ends this evening as they fall to the Chicago Clout by a score of 9-3.

We finish 1-2, finishing 3rd in our pool.

We’d like to thank the families who sacrificed so much to allow our guys to participate. This has been a wonderful bonding experience for us all.

Sorry to the guys for Coach Vadas’ choice of hotels accommodations. Better plan next time!

There is more work to be done! The Ice plays for the MVAA championship vs the Rays starting on Tuesday!

Natty Ice went 1-1 in pool play, finding themselves in a win or go home situation headed into Friday’s match up with the Chicago Clout. Each team in Pool B are 1-1, meaning the two winners of Friday’s games will be advancing to the final 6.

Natty Ice rallied to best Cardinals 17-13 on Saturday. Natty Ice trailed by as many as four runs during the game.

Natty Ice collected 15 hits and Cardinals had 15 in the high-scoring affair.

Natty Ice jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Darius Beck singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and David Toot singled, scoring one run.

A single by Peyton Zupko extended the Natty Ice lead to 5-0 in the top of the second inning.

Cardinals flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on four hits to take a 6-5 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Joe Tuchek that drove in two.

Derek Morrison hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Natty Ice tie the game at six in the top of the third.

A home run to left field by Andrew Cupan gave Natty Ice the lead, 8-6, in the top of the fourth.

Cardinals captured the lead, 10-8, in the bottom of the fourth after Natty Ice committed an error, Gavin White singled, Natty Ice committed an error, and Ricky DiMuzio singled, each scoring one run.

Natty Ice tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a double by Hubert, and a single by Morrison.

Natty Ice took the lead, 16-12, in the top of the eighth thanks to doubles by Morrison, and Beck.

Hubert earned the win for Natty Ice. They gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Joey Canann took the loss for Cardinals. The reliever went four innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking two. Devin Higginbotham opened the game for Natty Ice. They gave up six hits and six runs (zero earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two. Jacob Harsany appeared in relief for Natty Ice.

Natty Ice accumulated 15 hits in the game. Morrison led Natty Ice with four runs batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-5 on the day. Toot went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead Natty Ice in hits. Hubert, Keith Berger, and Beck each collected multiple hits for Natty Ice. Hubert led Natty Ice with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. Natty Ice turned one double play in the game.
