They’re set up at the Blade Show in Atlanta this weekend, and we couldn’t be happier to see their work getting the spotlight it deserves.

Friends, I have recently learned that humans celebrate something called National Donut Day.

At first, I was excited.

Then I remembered the last time I was associated with a donut, it was not glazed. It was not chocolate.

It was worn around my neck during recovery, and frankly, it lacked flavor.

Zero stars. Would not recommend. The service was rude, and nobody even offered coffee.

But since y’all seem to enjoy the edible kind, I support your celebration from a safe distance. Please eat a donut for me, because apparently “donuts are not for dogs” and “Sadie Mae, drop that” are still official shop policies.

Happy National Donut Day, friends.
May your donut be sweet, your coffee be strong, and your neckwear be optional.

🌄 This Weekend on the Porch at Fires Creek Outdoors 🌄

The mountains are calling, the porch chairs are waiting, and there’s plenty happening around the Village this weekend.

🔥 Friday
Up in Smoke BBQ will be serving lunch from 11am until 3pm or sold out.
If you know, you know. If you don't know yet... this is a pretty good weekend to find out.

🎻 Saturday
Pickers on the Porch should be gathering around noon'ish.
Pull up a chair, listen to some mountain music, or bring an instrument and join the fun.

🐾 All Weekend
Sadie Mae will be on duty greeting visitors, accepting ear scratches, and making sure everyone feels welcome on the porch.

Whether you're visiting the mountains for the weekend or you're one of our local neighbors, this is the perfect time to slow down for a bit. Browse the shop, discover something unexpected, enjoy some BBQ, listen to a few tunes, and spend a little time on a front porch where strangers often leave as friends.

There are plenty of places to rush through in life.

The porch isn't one of them.

Up In Smoke BBQ is at Hogsed’s Village today from 11am–3pm and Russ is smokin’ up a storm.

On the menu:

Grab a plate, wander the shops, and then settle into a rocking chair on the Fires Creek Outdoors porch for a while. The mountains are looking good, the smoke is rolling, and lunch tastes better when you’re not in a hurry.

And if you happen to meet Sadie Mae, don’t be surprised if she suddenly becomes very interested in your lunch choices. She’s convinced quality control is part of her job description. 🐾

This is a **RARE Big Sky Carvers William Herrick Rainbow Trout Bookshelf**, and it is absolutely packed with mountain cabin personality.

It’s part bookshelf, part wall décor, part “I caught one bigger than that in ’97 but nobody had a camera” energy.

The carved rainbow trout detail is gorgeous, and the shelf gives it a little extra usefulness, which means Dad can display:
