Every kid should wrestle.

One of the most important lessons wrestling teaches our kids isn’t just how to win — it’s how to struggle, get uncomfortable, get back up, and keep going.

Wrestling is hard. Practice is hard. Losing is hard. Getting tired, frustrated, and pushed outside your comfort zone is hard.

But that’s where growth happens.

Struggle builds resilience. It teaches our kids that hard things are not something to run from — they’re something we can work through.

As parents and coaches, we don’t want to make life unnecessarily difficult for our kids. But we also don’t want to remove every obstacle standing in their way.

Sometimes, they need to fall to get back up again.

Because when the next big challenge comes along, we want them to be able to say:

“I’ve been through hard things before. I can handle this.”

That’s bigger than wrestling.

That’s Earning The Shield. 🛡️
