Hello Racing Fans. It’s a been a few since we have made post, and done anything with our Racing Program.

Last we posted, Sydnee had Won her First ever Wally trophy at Renegade Raceway in Yakima, WA. After that race we came home, unloaded everything, and Winterized until the spring. Then Spring came upon Us, and some decisions we made. Unfortunately some grades in school were slipping, so the Parents removed racing until the grades improved. And as the grades slowly started to improve, our teenage Racer asked if we could not race until school year was over. She wanted to focus her efforts on finishing the school year, before going racing. Syd got all her grades up, and passed all her classes, and is taking some Summer School classes as refreshers.

Also this year, Syd did all the Winter/Spring Maintenance for her Dragster. Dad sat in his chair, pointing and giving directions. With very minimal assistance, Syd replaced some chassis bearings, Rebuilt her Clutches, and Rebuilt the entire Fuel System on her Dragster. And upon first fire, the engine started and ran great with just small idle adjustments. Very Proud Moment for the Racer, and Crew Chief.

July 4th was our First pass in the car since October. We got 4 passes of testing before Rd 1 of Eliminations. Car was very consistent, and all the work Syd did was performing excellent. Syd went a few rounds, and took 3rd for her First Race of the Season.
Saturday was another race, and again the car was running well and consistent, almost identical to Friday. Unfortunately the Driver was a bit off, and was out after a few rounds. Sunday we didn’t perform so good. We only had 1 qualifier, and the car was very slow. We drew #1 qualifier, so we made a choice hoping our qualifying pass was a fluke. Syd had a great .022 light to her opponents .068…. But the car was really slow again. After getting back and looking at previous data, and looking at the car…. We determined that 1 of the clutches had a slight issue. We thought about changing the clutch, and trying again in Second Chance race…..but just called it a day.

We had a Great 3 days of racing. Saw our Race Family, and got to spend time enjoying with them. Will get the clutch issue fixed, and will be out this Friday at Pacific Raceways to test our clutch issue. Then our next race will be Aug 1, 2, 3 back at Bremerton….

See Y’all at the Track..!!!!

Well… what a Successful Weekend in Yakima this Past Weekend. In case y’all missed it, we attended Renegade Raceways 11th Annual Trick or Treat Shootout.
Syd and I arrived Friday Afternoon, got setup, and got ready for the Jr Shootout. Syd made her qualifying passes, and went rounds all the way to the Finals, where she he met her buddy Zac, with The Pug Racing. Was a close race with Zac winning, and Syd getting Runner Up. Great Start to our weekend.

Saturday was a new day of racing. We had our 2 rounds of qualifying, and in the end…. Syd was #1 qualifier with a .003 reaction time. But after qualifying, Syd was all scared and worried going into First Round.
She was afraid she was going to go Red, after being so close in qualifying. I was calm, and we had a good pre-race chat. I explained to her that she didn’t have to be that close, but just needed a good light. She took it well, and got into her game mode. Went into First Round, and did her job for the Win. The win earned her a bye into the next round, which definitely helped her confidence. But now she had her hands full, and had to earn the remaining wins.
Dad and Syd had a plan, and Syd was focused on her goal. She was in her zone, and just doing Syd things. Dad was taking care of the car, and watching the weather. And the next couple rounds, Syd was successfully earning her starts and earning Wins. Next Up was Final Round, against her racing buddy Joe FastlaneRacing . Was the longest 8.50 seconds I ever had to watch…. With Sydnee getting the WIN..!!! Sydnee had Finally earned her First NHRA Jr Drag Racing Wally. She had been in 5 previous Finals, and was runner up all previous attempts. Mom and Dad are so incredibly Proud of the hard work and dedication Syd put in to earn her Win.
Sunday was again a new Day, and Syd was motivated to Win again. Unfortunately she lost in the Second round. But she held her head up high, and Proud of her weekend.

This a different year racing for our Team. We didn’t have any specific goals of expectations for this Season. This was our 6th season, and wanted to change up a bit. Wanted to possibly try different tracks, and maybe attend other races as spectators. But that all changed early in the season, when Syd had an injury in Wrestling, and was in a few different casts for 2 months. Then Syd decided she wanted to miss a few races for school functions.
As a team, we only raced 5 weekends this season. And all the races this season, Syd made the Semi-Finals or better in all of her races. Even though she was out Second Rd this past Sunday, after winning…. She was still holding her head high for her accomplishments this Season.

We have some plans for this Winter, and some new goals for 2025.

Stay tuned until then

Well…. I finally had some time, so here is My Weekend recap from our weekend at Mission Raceway Park.

Syd and I decided to attend the NHRA National Open at Mission Raceway Park in Mission B.C. Canada. We left early Friday morning, so we could participate in the Test&Tune, and get some data for the weekend.

We got great pit spot thanks to Family Racing, so we unloaded and got set up. Then we had some time and waited for Jr’s to be called for testing. We were able to make 2 passes and get decent results. Upon getting ready for test # 3 I discovered that the exhaust header pipe was loose, so we aborted the test and went back to our pits to check it out.

Turns out, the header pipe was cracked over 3/4 around the pipe. marshall and Marshall Racing happened to check on us, and offered to help us find someone that could weld up our pipe. Nobody at the track had a welder, but Big Jay said he could run back to his shop and weld it up for us. Unfortunately we were done for the evening, but Jay got it welded and we were ready for Saturday.

Saturday we got 2 qualifying passes and then into eliminations. We had ok data from our few passes, but weather was something else. Was quite warm, but the humidity was horrible. So we had to take a few guesses for our tune. We made the right choices, and made it to the finals. As as y’all probably seen earlier, Syd lost in Finals by .0008 seconds.

Sunday was another New day of racing. 1 qualifying pass, and onto Eliminations. Syd qualified #2, and ironically it was a rematch from the Saturday Final. Sydnee was calm and cool, and got the Win this time. Made it Semi-Finals, where she tapped her brakes not wanting a repeat of Saturday Night, but ended up letting her opponent by for the loss by .002

3 days of racing, 2nd and 3rd Place, and Tons of Memories made. We had a blast, and look forward to racing in Canada again.

And I want to Thank Mission Raceway Park for a wonderful event. Also need to thank Family Racing, Marshall Racing, and Racing. Until next time Ehh..🇨🇦
