Hydration: The Most Overlooked Performance Enhancer

Many people spend time worrying about supplements, workout programs, and meal plans while ignoring one of the most important factors in performance: hydration.

Even mild dehydration can impact strength, endurance, focus, and recovery. During the summer months, sweating increases significantly, making hydration even more important.

One common mistake is waiting until you're thirsty to drink water. Thirst is actually a sign that dehydration has already begun. Instead, make hydration a habit throughout the day.

A simple guideline is to start your morning with a large glass of water and continue drinking consistently throughout the day. Those who exercise regularly or spend time outdoors may need even more.

Electrolytes can also play an important role during longer workouts or extremely hot conditions. Sodium, potassium, and magnesium help regulate fluid balance and muscle function.

Proper hydration can improve energy levels, support recovery, and help maintain workout performance. Before spending money on the latest supplement, make sure you're drinking enough water.
