In Loving Memory of Katie 💛

Some people leave a mark on a community that never fades… and Katie Peterson is one of them. As the heart behind Workout 24/7 Gym in Wanamingo & Kenyon along with Personal Training with KT, she inspired so many to become stronger. Not just physically, but in life.

On Saturday, May 23, we’re coming together to honor her legacy the best way we know how. By moving, supporting one another, and giving back.

Join us for a Memorial Walk/Jog/Run
📍 Wanamingo Community Center
🕣 Registration: 8:30 AM
🏁 Start: 9:00 AM
💲 $25 donation

Please note: the course is just shy of a full 5K.

All proceeds will go toward supporting a Kenyon-Wanamingo High School senior pursuing a 4-year degree in exercise science or nutrition, continuing Katie’s passion for health, wellness, and helping others.

Whether you walk, jog, or run, your presence matters. This is more than a race, it’s a celebration of a life that continues to impact so many.

47 🎉 and 26.2 🏃‍♀️

Today I celebrated my birthday the best way I know how… by running a full marathon, and beating my time from 3 years ago 🙌 By almost 3 minutes.

Not sharing this to brag, but to remind you that it’s OK to be proud of yourself.

This didn’t just happen today. It took hours, early mornings, tired legs, and hundreds of miles. It took showing up even when I didn’t feel like it. And today, it all came together.

I run because I love it, because it clears my mind, challenges me, and reminds me how strong I am. Some races end in tears, some end with fists in the air… and honestly, sometimes both.

Here’s your reminder: put in the work, celebrate the wins (big or small), and don’t be afraid to say, “I’m proud of myself.”

18 miles yesterday… and honestly? One of the toughest training runs I’ve had in a long time.

Which says a lot, because there was also the time a friend and I ran 20 miles in Minneapolis, got completely lost, and finished FIVE miles away from our car. To this day, hearing “Loring Park” gives me mild runner PTSD. 😅

The first almost 13 miles yesterday felt amazing. Smooth, strong, confident. The kind of run that reminds you why you love running in the first place.

And then… the wind showed up.

The last nearly 5 miles were straight into 24 mph wind. Not cute, not character-building in the moment, just brutal. The kind of wind where you feel like you’re running but going absolutely nowhere. I walked more than I wanted to. I cried. I was frustrated, disappointed, and honestly a little mad at the weather.

After 13 years of consistently running, I still have days like this.

And maybe that’s the point.

Not every run goes as planned. Not every training day feels strong or inspiring. Sometimes the win is just finishing. Even when it’s messy, emotional, and humbling.

Thanks to Alexa for the reminder I needed most. The bad runs are the ones that make us better runners.
