Vendors fought the heat yesterday, but got set up and are ready to show you their best stuff. So come on out.

The 2020 show is cancelled. We are receiving many questions about this. The shops in town will be open during the show times. With the 50% chance of rain, it will be good to shop inside anyway. Please exercise caution due to the covid restrictions. Walnut currently has only one covid case who is quarantined.

Even though the show cancelled, the merchants of Walnut are prepared for a few visitors during this week when the show was originally scheduled. Those who are not afraid are welcome to stop in Walnut for a little shopping. We expect only local folks (within 50 miles) to stop in so the danger of spreading the virus should be low. Most folks take precautions and are careful. Hope to see a few of you in town this week.

It is with a sad hearts that the Walnut AMVETs and the Walnut City Council have decided to CANCEL the 2020 show. We realize this will disappoint many. We will contact our vendors and offer either a partial refund or a paid-up space in the 2021 show.
Whether the threat of infection is real or only perceived, the fear is real. Many Walnut citizens fear that thousands of visitors from many states could spread the Covid-19 virus to the local area. The chance was not worth the risk.
We will start planning the 2021 show soon.

Latest News: The Iowa Governor revised her guidance as of May 1st. Large gathering like our show is still prohibited. New guidance will be issued on May 15th. On May 7th, our city council will decide to either to cancel the show or defer the decision until May 18th (soonest we can have a "special" meeting).

04/11/2020

The AMVETs and city council are going to decide on May 7th whether to have the show or not. Any dealers who have not paid are expected to send their contract and payment in on May 8th. Dealers who have paid will be contacted if we do not conduct the show.

Latest News: We are trying to decide whether to have the show or cancel due to the Covid-19 scare. As of now, the schools are closed thru April 10th. The College world series which is conducted in June is cancelled in Omaha ( mostly due to the fact that the schools that play are not playing now, so how would they determine who would play?)
We know of no other events cancelled in June yet. Our city council will try to decide by April 15th based on developments and guidance from county and state health agencies. Stay tuned....

As of today.... We anticipate that the Walnut Antique Show will go on as scheduled. This may change if a significant number of dealers refuse to come.

12/25/2019

We are on the verge of another new year. That means we start planning the next Walnut Antique Show. We tried to move to two-day show last year, but popular opinion was not so good. Sooo..... We are planning to return to a 3-day show this year. The times/dates this year are 8AM-5PM Friday, 19 June 2020; 8AM-5PM Saturday, 20 June 2020 and 8AM-4PM Sunday, 21 June 2020. These are the times for the inside dealers. The outside dealers can sell anytime starting Friday morning. The dealers are not allowed to setup until late Thursday night, so there is no selling allowed on Thursday.
