Hunting the Cache River flood waters!

The snow geese began arriving in waves just before Christmas and then the big migration push arrived just after the holiday weekend. At one point the geese were just 40 yards from the club house and the property was surrounded on the ground and in the air by the thousands. The big push of ducks arrived 2 weeks later and we experienced some awesome hunting right up the close of duck season.

When the Cache River hits flood stage it creates a duck paradise in our river slues which are just outside of the fields that we hunt.

The last half of January 2022 really made the season for our club. Good ducking with good friends and good dogs. We just finished the season and already are looking forward to next year!

The club finished strong in January 2022 closing out the season with 527 birds logged. The weather changed with rain and the Cache River getting over the levees. Then came the cold and a couple of snow storms which really got the birds migrating.

Our duck season started off slow in November 2021 with warm weather and dry conditions. We had to pump water to have water on all of our fields. Also, there was no water for the early teal season to give us a jump start.
