When the game speeds up, can you slow yourself down?
Coach Greg Moore shared a story from a high-pressure regional moment involving future Major Leaguer Kyle Zimmer.
The moment got tight. Instead of allowing the game to dictate his pace, Zimmer stepped away, took a few deliberate breaths, and reset.
That’s a skill.
Create space. Control your breathing. Get your attention back where it belongs. Then compete.
You can’t control the pressure. You can control what you do when it shows up.
And like every other part of the game, that takes reps.
Week 2 of The Class was about training attention, becoming a better learner, and developing tools that help players perform when the game gets uncomfortable.
