🦌 WHAT AN OPENING WEEKEND! 🦌

This weekend was exactly what we hoped Buck & Blade would be about.

We got to meet a lot of great people, hear the stories behind their hunts, see some awesome bucks come through the door, and most importantly — celebrate the moment with every hunter who trusted us with their deer.

From young hunters making memories to guys who have been doing this for decades, getting to be a small part of that experience has been an absolute blast.

We started Buck & Blade because we wanted to provide a service our local hunting community could count on, but after this first weekend, we can already tell it’s going to be about a whole lot more than skinning deer.

It’s about the people, the stories, the memories, and the hunting community right here at home.

Thank you to EVERYONE who came through this weekend, shared our posts, told somebody about us, or supported us in any way. Y’all made our first opening weekend one we won’t forget!

Tomorrow is the first opening day for us, and WE’RE READY! 🔪🦌

If you’re bringing us a deer, here’s what you need to know:

BEFORE YOU COME:
• If it is later at night or early mornings give us a call or text to let us know you’re headed our way
•It’s the white building at top of the hill - do not driving down the driveway please!
• Deer do not have to be field dressed, but field dressing is recommended in warm weather
• Bring a cooler WITH ice
• We’ll get you checked in when you arrive and take it from there!

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR NC DEER HUNTERS! 🦌

We’ve a lot a lot of people asking so…

With the new 2026–27 CWD regulations, restrictions on transporting deer carcasses out of CWD areas have been removed.

That means deer harvested in North Carolina can now be transported across county lines — and Buck & Blade WILL be accepting deer from OUTSIDE Stokes County! 🙌

📍 Hunting in Forsyth, Surry, Rockingham, Yadkin or another NC county? You can bring your deer to us in Walnut Cove.

🦌 EARLY VELVET WEEKEND — WE’LL BE OPEN LATE!

Stokes County hunters, Buck & Blade will be OPEN Saturday & Sunday for the early velvet season!

We’ve already had hunters calling and asking about our hours, so we want to make sure everyone knows:

🌙 We’ll be staying open LATE both nights.

Hunt until the end of legal shooting light. If that velvet buck steps out late, don’t worry about whether you’ll have somewhere to take him.

Super excited to be working with these wonderful people this deer season! Our goal is to make this as easy as possible for the hunters!!

EARLY WEEKEND IS JUST ONE WEEK AWAY!!

We won’t be skinning deer on-site until Rifle Season, but we’ve found a great way to help our hunters throughout the early seasons!

We’re partnering with Buck & Blade Deer Skinning , a couple of great young men who are putting their skills to work to fill a need in our community. They’ll take your whole deer, skin it, gut it, and even debone it if you choose. From there, they’ll deliver it directly to us for processing.

That means you drop your deer off with them, and when your order is ready, you simply pick it up here at Mitchell's Meat Processing - no extra trips for you!

We’re excited to work with these guys and help make deer season a little easier for our local hunters!
