It’s the state your body has been living in for years.

I’m over here listening to my inner critic have a complete meltdown in a forward fold.

The funny thing is because I know...
Thoughts don’t disappear ignoring them.
Tension doesn’t leave when I pretend it’s not there.
Patterns don’t change by intellectualizing.

It’s being willing to sit still long enough to BE WITH what’s happening underneath the surface… then there is the change.

My therapist always quotes Carl Jung when he said:
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

That’s why I love Yin.
Because it reveals.
The stories.
The resistance.
The perfectionism.
The fear.
The playing small parts.
The emotions we’ve been too busy to feel.

And when those things finally have space to come out and play, they often lose their grip on us.

You leave lighter.
Clearer.
More like yourself.
And sometimes laughing at the ridiculous things your mind has been trying to convince you are true. 😅 they’re not!

For most of my life, I never gave thought to slowing down… I’d wait to crash instead.
Injury, illness, or exhaustion would be my crash pad.

There was always another goal.

And underneath it all was a belief I see in so many students:

So we stay busy.
