What an incredible day on Walled Lake! 🎣☀️🐟 June 13th

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and participated in the 12th Annual Walled Lake Bass Fishing Derby. Whether you fished from a boat, the shoreline, volunteered your time, helped behind the scenes, or simply stopped by to enjoy the festivities, we truly appreciate your support.

Events like this don’t happen without great people. Thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the day run smoothly, and a special thank you to our sponsors whose support helps us continue growing the derby and creating a great experience for our anglers year after year.

Most importantly, thank you to the anglers, friends, and families who continue to support this event. The memories, stories, and friendships made on the water are what it’s all about.

We’re currently sorting through photos, videos, and final scores and will be posting the official winners and additional event photos shortly.

In less than 48 hours, the 12th Annual Walled Lake Bass Fishing Derby will be underway! 🎣🐟

A day filled with friendly competition, anglers working their craft, friends and families making memories, and hopefully a few fish stories that get better with age. 😎

And we couldn’t ask for a much better weather forecast! ☀️ With sunny skies, temperatures in the mid-80s, and a nice southwest breeze, it’s shaping up to be a beautiful day on Walled Lake. Check out the attached forecast for Saturday. 🌊

A huge thank you to Eddie’s Party Store for their continued support of the Walled Lake Fishing Derbys! 🎣

Not only does Eddie generously allow us to use his boat launch for the Summer Derby, but he also supplies the kickoff and final countdown fireworks that have become a tradition at our events.

If you’ve ever stopped in, you already know his store is well-stocked and has just about everything you need for a day on the water or a day on the lake.

Most importantly, Eddie is simply a great guy who continues to support our anglers and our community year after year.

🚨 TAGGED FISH ALERT 🚨

Jerry and Frank from The Greenhouse of Walled Lake gave me a call and asked a simple question:

“Why aren’t we doing a tagged fish for the Summer Derby?”

A few minutes later, the answer became…

WE ARE. 😎🎣

The $10,000 tagged fish remains a Winter Derby tradition, but this summer one lucky angler could hook into a tagged fish worth $1,000! 💰🐟

The stakes just got higher for June 13th.

Stay tuned Thursday/Friday for the catch-and-release video as the tagged fish is released into Walled Lake! 🔥

We slipped out on Walled Lake for a quick break from derby prep and the bass bite was downright ridiculous. 🔥🐟

If the fish cooperate next Saturday like they did today, the weigh-in dock is going to be a very BUSY place. 😎
