At risk of sounding like a broken record, our website is still not able to be updated for the fishing and ice report, so we will keep posting here.
We did receive a fair amount of snow during the middle of the week paired with a drop in temps which seemed to slow the bite some. Most renters were able to pick up a fair amount of Perch during the day but overall was much slower than the weeks prior. Best depths were found in 12-14ft in areas that held more vegetation. Dead sticks with a single plain hook and a smaller fathead or rainbow minnow were best bets. Only a couple of walleyes were reported, coming during the evening hours.
Ice depths are now in the low 30" range in most places so if you are drilling out of a hard house extensions are required. Snow depths are in the 2-10' range depending on drifting. Off road travel is still doable but watch out for old snow and road banks where drifting has occurred.
We will be keeping a select few houses out for this week and weekend. Let us know if you would like to get out one last time for the season!
