Happy to get it done on day 1 of this week.

I had about 8 Jake’s and hens in front of me for an hour and when they disappeared I thought that was it for the day. The wind was picking up and it was starting to rain.

Then this guy pops out at the top of a hill about 200 yards from me. It felt like forever but from start to finish only took 5 minutes. He hit about 80 yards after a few calls then dead sprint towards me.

Finished at 22 yards. 10 3/4in beard 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 in spurs. Zone 2 public land bird #1 for the season.
