My name is Faith, and I need to tell you the saddest story my little heart has ever known.
This past winter, my friend and I were abandoned in the freezing cold by people we trusted. We were left alone to survive during the harshest weather I have ever felt in my short life. My friend was struck by a car, and suddenly I was all alone…terrified, hungry, and heartbroken. I stopped trusting humans. Every time someone came near me, I ran. I didn’t understand why we had been thrown away like we didn’t matter. For weeks, I searched for food, warmth, and safety while the cold slowly took everything from me. After three long weeks, kind humans finally rescued me. I kept running from them because I didn’t realize not everyone was unkind – there were 15 people trying to save me. They gave me a warm place to rest, food in my belly, and love I thought I would never feel again. I was so skinny and sick that no one even realized I was carrying a baby. This morning, I gave birth to my tiny baby…but my baby was stillborn. My heart is shattered. I wanted so badly to be a mama. I wanted my baby to know warmth, safety, and love – things I never had. Instead, all I can do is cry for the little life I could not save.
Please…I am begging you. If you or someone you know can no longer care for an animal, don’t dump them and walk away. Please find a rescue, a sanctuary, or someone who will help. No animal deserves to suffer the way I did. No baby deserves to be lost because of neglect.
