Love being part of this Association!

DOJO OWNERS & HEAD INSTRUCTORS — BUILD THE FUTURE OF UECHI-RYU WITH US!

Strong Traditions. Strong Leadership. Stronger Together.

The URIKA Association invites dedicated Uechi-Ryu dojo owners and instructors to explore becoming part of an organization committed to preserving our martial arts heritage while strengthening its future.

We believe the strength of traditional karate comes not only from the techniques we practice, but also from the knowledge we share, the relationships we build, and the generations of students we inspire.

Why consider URIKA?

🥋 Preserving Tradition — Honoring the principles, teachings, and values of traditional Uechi-Ryu Karate.

🥋 Professional Connections — Building meaningful relationships with fellow dojo owners and experienced instructors.

🥋 Continued Growth — Encouraging the exchange of knowledge, training opportunities, and martial arts development.

🥋 Community & Collaboration — Supporting one another and working together to strengthen the future of Uechi-Ryu.

🥋 A Shared Commitment — Bringing together instructors who value integrity, respect, tradition, and excellence in teaching.

Your dojo has its own history. Your students have their own journey. Together, we can help carry the traditions of Uechi-Ryu into the next generation.

Come in and train!!

10/26/2026

Another week of training—my favorite few hours of the week! Come see why!

Proud moment!

A class with people 18-40yo, white to green belts, all working together and training hard (we are missing two other white belts from this photo). This is a tough age demographic these days in martial arts, especially karate! Usually you see thriving kids programs which then feed adult programs as they age and/or their parents become interested, or you have a very experienced black belt class where there are many years of time put on the dojo floor.

Had the share! Grateful for the students here!

Classes this week starting tonight!! Come in and train!!

Congratulations to Anthony (coached by Tony) for taking silver at the New England Judo Championship today!! Both of these men are Uechi-Ryu Mushin students and are also staples at Muscles Unlimited Legacy Foundation, bringing Judo to East Boston and Revere. Amazing men!! Proud to know the two of you!

Class this week!! Get in here and train!

Also, congratulations to Anthony! He cross trains in Judo and competed this weekend at the Morris Cup. We are very proud of you!!

Last night we were able to present Sensei Rico with his Hanshi belt (9th degree black belt with a teaching title of Hanshi, represented by the 4 gold stripes on the belt)!

This is an amazing accomplishment involving decades of training and teaching, in addition to perseverance through all life has to offer. Congratulations, Sensei Rico, on a well deserved and earned promotion!

Sensei Rico, along with all of those who train here, are the ones who make this place special and why we earned 2026 Dojo of the Year! We couldn’t do it without amazing people like Sensei Rico!

My favorite hours of the week! Come by Tuesday and Thursday 8p-9p! This isn’t the karate you are expecting!

Promoted—Scott!!

This man has come a long way from night one and gleefully takes to sparring with every opportunity he can. It is apparent he takes the time to practice outside of class and we love having him as part of the program!!
